Sleep tracking is not something that most people do in a manner such as step tracking. You can't get up and make yourself sleep more unlike step tracking or calorie counting where you can make an effort to get out after dinner to reach a goal.... YMMV.

Really?!!! I wonder why Apple put it in, or why it's available on virtually every smart or fitness watch, or why there are standalone devices that track your sleep. Hint: because many find it useful and important (and yes, I have had devices to track sleep, among other things, for a few years now and find it a very useful measurement....

The three day "arbitrary requirement" is simply a reflection on the fact that the new Samsung Gear 3 can last three days (oh, and the Frontier version includes LTE, too), while the Apple Watch 2 still can't make it through a 24 hour cycle.

Guess which one is more useful, and which one can actually track my sleep patterns? BTW, I remember people like you arguing how "nobody needs apps" when the first iPhone came out....

Although the watch itself is selling less, what I really want to know is how are bands selling. Because if you look closely, Apple has fooled us all. They sell the watch knowing that people will buy many times over on the band. And that is where they are making a killing.

/s

Apple was likely raking in the profit on they're OEM bands when the Apple Watch first released. However, slowly, third party manufacturers offered bands with similar quality and almost indistinguishable side by side comparisons, with far cheaper price points. I believe there is a third party replica band for every authentic Apple Band on the market.

The consumer wised up and found a better solution for a cheaper price, without sacrificing the appeal and quality for the Most part.

Don't worry, Tim has some amazing products in the pipeline.

Can't tell if sarcasm.

Hoping sarcasm.

This tech needs to evolve rapidly, be much more user friendly, and be priced much lower to make any leaps now. I say this as an Apple Watch owner.

The Apple Watch is useless.

I say this as an Apple Watch owner.

A lot of people think it would look better.

It should have been round from day 1. Terrible design. The home screen looks like it was designed for a round screen...

The lack of a refresh is what made me not plunge for a second watch. If the watch progressed in design or showed the slightest innovation in design I would have purchased. Apple is all about shareholders and BOD now. I miss the days when Steve did not give two rats a*$ about not recovering the cost of design and just pushed the envelope on design. In today's day and age, it is all about ROI.

These were also My initial thoughts. I was all set to purchase Gen 2, but The lack of redesign (Which it makes sense why Apple Did not scrap the first Gen casing) Ultimately did not compel me to upgrade, being my first Gen Stainless Watch looks exactly the same, with the exception of the GPS, screen brightness and water resistance. And many seem to think the Series 2 struggles with battery life, more so than Gen 1.

If those above features listed do not appeal to you, then it would be futile to purchase Series 2. A redesign or round variant is likely for Gen 3.

And I'm still enjoying my first Gen Stainless very much and it's served me well.

I live in a big European capital city and haven't seen a single person with one.

I don't actually believe that, unless maybe you are working from home and have limited close interactions with people (remember the watch will often be hidden under a piece of cloth and looked at very briefly - it's not as obvious as a iPhone in the streets).

I live in what could be called a small European capital and see some regularly, but don't usually notice them outdoor (more at the cinema, in the office, or at a coffee shop).

Clearly the Apple Watch is not a big hit, but it isn't inexistent in large cities.

May be a personal preference, but for your information: a circular smartwatch has never worked. Yes, it looks more lile a traditional watch then, but it's just not practical. If you look at some of those Android Wear watches... yuk, so ugly in my opinion.
Ugly because it is round, or as I suspect, because it is powered by Android and you have some bizarre sense of apple loyalty where you believe you have to automatically dislike their products..

Ugly because it doesn't work with a smartwatch. I mean, round watches usually look great, better than rectangular ones. But those circular watches only have one clock on it, which is precisely made for the shape of the watch. The fact that I hate those circular Android Wear watches has absolutely NOTHING to do with my hate for Android. And you could've read it in my comment, so I don't even see why I'm actually answering your question.

Did they seriously expect a different result?
Agreed. One, the new model as Series 1 seems to confuse some people as they assume the original would be Series 1. That seems like bad product branding. Two, the new Nike Series one just came out and the other Series 1 have only been out for a short time, so I don't know how accurate a study this could be from IDC. Three, it is illogical to expect people to upgrade watches to the next gen as much as they do phones - the phones offer far more features and changes in each generation. Fourth, Apple doesn't offer a trade-in program for the old watches to help relieve the cost of acquiring the latest model.

Because everyone was waiting for the second-generation...

Happens with every product. When there's a new one incoming, sales of the current product decline.

Hang on, is this actually an article?

Yeah, and we're still waiting for the true 2nd gen. They only released a fatter incremental update this year.

.

People are not buying Apple watches and are waiting for a new revolutionary product and they're making the right descision:

Introducing Apple Scarf on October 27th.

You seem to have a lot of hate in your life my friend. Maybe consider chilling out a bit. . It ain't worth it..

That message was intended specifically for @ThaRuler. I wouldn't expect you to understand. However, he did. Time to move on.
Lol, brilliant deflection.. I understand it completely, you've mixed up tenses within the same sentence. Quit resisting and buy one. So you are telling him to do something, then putting already at the end as if they have already done something you have just asked them to do. What a mess your comprehension of the English language seems to be?

It really needs to be cheaper. I want one, but not bad enough to spend that kind of money on the cheapest looking one

I'm fine, believe me. Got no hate in my life at all. I was just pointing something out to you, that's all. Apparently I came over like I'm angry or something, but I wasn't. :p

Any one reading your posts and previous posts for that matter, understands you bicker off topic and post frivolous hate quotes.

On this thread alone, you attack other forum members with silly insults. It doesn't phase any one here, it only degrades you further, but I'm confident this comes as a shock to you.

I have been a discussion with you before and it leads no where, because you have nothing pertinent or of substance to discuss, other than showing the other forum members how bitter of a person you are and you appear very miserable to say the least.

In kind, please take your childish rants elsewhere and allow the other forum members to participate in a meaningful discussion.

Have a nice day.

I've obviously touched a nerve.. feel free to completely ignore the constructive comments of my prior post and just have a go at me. Thanks for that..

Phew, glad you are OK old boy, take it easy now.

Actually, round smartwatches work fine. And look good, too.

Whenever I went out with my daughter and her Apple Watch, it was my round Android watches that people asked about, not hers. Drove her nuts :D

Ugly because it doesn't work with a smartwatch. I mean, round watches usually look great, better than rectangular ones. But those circular watches only have one clock on it, which is precisely made for the shape of the watch.

Circular smartwatches certainly have more than one clock or clock face available. Android smartwatches in particular have thousands of available interactive watchfaces, both analog and digital, square and round, with all sorts of complications.

So what you're saying makes no sense. Or perhaps it's not translating over very well. Could you please give an example of what you mean?

Thanks!

The parallel with "other" devices may or may not be valid in this case. I am not sure if people who did not own Apple watches already even knew (cared) about incoming new model. And those who had older model... how many were going to buy a new one? Whatever the case, it does look like Apple watch is at least somewhat in trouble.

No. I only wanted to exploit you to the other forum members on how you conduct yourself and lack decorum. Your posts exhibit your own petulant behavior.

Have a great day!
