If I did order them at 3am EST, do you think I would have time to go to the apple store at 10, come back and if I found one at the apple store, cancel the order?? Or will it be too late to cancel the order by then???

as long as the online order hasn't shipped, you can cancel it

In store pickup was never introduced in Canada...so I would have to order it and have it shipped to my house :/

Do you think it will have shipped as fast as 10-11am??

Is in-store pick up US only? I discovered the lack of this when I was in Australia.

I just got back from the Arrowhead mall Apple Store (in Peoria, AZ) and asked one of the blue shirted sales guys if they'd have them for sale tomorrow. He said, "for sure, absolutely." Then I explained my two angry conversations with Apple Online call centers earlier in the day who both said that they werent sure and that I should just order one. He got on his radio and called the back room.

"Yeah, we've got them."

So, in... 12.85 hours... New MacBook!

Can't wait.

Awesome, I hope the store pickup option works tonight. This is quite possibly the weirdest apple launch I've seen. I just want to get in and get out, I never know who to actually talk to if I am buying something in an apple store, confusing.

And at the very least you'd think that their employees would know how to answer the question. So far every response has been all over the board.

Apple store employees are rarely told anything before their marathon training session immediately before a release.

That is great news, I guess if Scottsdale doesn't have them I can always venture to Peoria to grab one!

I contacted two of my local ARS and was advise they would not have any macbooks in stock and to apply online.

I contacted Apple Store Cap3000 south of France: No stock, no date for the stock to arrive. They advise me to purchase online...

It's basically Apple protocol to be fuzzy on telling customers they'll have products on launch day. They will have products, but if they verbally say "yes we'll have it", and that person shows up to find out they're all sold out, the person may try to start a scene, accuse apple of lying or having bad service, etc.. so it's just easier to be fuzzy about it.

I remember when the 1st gen ipod touch came out. I called the store on launch day on my lunch break and asked if they had it, they said no. I had time to kill so I walked over to the Apple store (just 2 blocks away) and asked if they had it, the guy said they had about 30 of them and gladly sold me one.

Just go to the store, the earlier the better. They're going to have em.

making me rethink my decision of staying up late and ordering it online....

Apple stores are horrific on launch days. I live just a few blocks from the Apple Store and I'm still opting to wait for the online store to come back up so I can order. :p

But its not a iPhone...so there should be a hassle...

I am getting conflicting answers as well.. Going to be pissed if I dont get my hands on a rMB tomorrow to tide me over until the watch launch.

Then you'll be super pissed if it's not available at your store!

just afraid to order it online and then not be able to pay for it because of my 2000$ limit on the card...really hope they won't take the money until they ship...and hope they won't ship until after I go to the store..

Hate to burst your bubble but I am pretty sure they charge your card as soon as the transaction is completed. Can you call your credit card company now and raise the limit?
