Not everyone is born either male or female. Maybe you will find out one day when you have a child.

well, some are born with down syndrome.

normally, people are born either female or male. both are part of a jigsaw called reproduction - possibly the single most important function. the rest is irrelevant.

the fact that this 'issue' is using so much political space and time is just another proof of effectiveness of the ruling class mechanisms orchestrated solely to divert attention of the voting class.

if you have a penis but think you're a woman, you've got a problem. the social group that has 80% attempted suicide rate (more than jews in nazi poland) has a problem. if said group forces the general population to participate and enable their delusions as if they are 'normal' - through law, we all have a problem.

the fact that the usa and half the europe gotta elect extreme FAR right candidates to recover any semblence of common sense just proves the **** our parents (gen x) with their unconditional and dogmatic individualism got us into.

dont even get me started on the refugees (aka economic migrants aka 60 million displaced people we should welcome in our homes no question asked)

There actually aren't many.

But that's irrelevant. I never said I wanted a direct popular vote. I said the current system is not sustainable, because educated, highly populated states like NY and California will not stand by forever while the podunk states elect semi-literate fools like GWB and Trump to run the country, using their outsized votes.

There are plenty of potential ways to fix the electoral college without resorting to "the popular vote" (and it WILL be altered at some point in the next 50 years, I guarantee it.)

You are right, and I doubt it will take 50 years. It might even fix itself if gerrymandered electoral districts created by red state legislatures continue to get tossed out by the courts. Certainly not all the residents of podunk areas are Republicans. I should know, living in a red CD that leans purple (and occasionally flips) in a rural area of this very blue state. Yeah progressives are a minority but the minority is as good as 55-45 sometimes, plenty close enough to flip if the GOP picks the wrong issue to make a series of campaign ads, or if some candidate wrongfoots himself on live TV or on social media.

As progressive boomers retire and some choose country life for the first time or else move to their country places to live permanently, more of those red CDs are already naturally turning purple. Having this disaster of a President turn up because of rural voters not liking Hillary Clinton's version of the Democratic Party has also helped disguise the purpling effect at least in the 2016 elections. The other and reinforcing effect towards blue in exurban and rural areas is that progressives are now getting organized to restore grassroots power in local offices. Hey the Demos didn't bother for too long, so we will if they still don't get it after the shellacking they took in 2016.

Good thing you are on the wrong side of history with your bigotry and people with your opinion will eventually die out.

I, on the other hand, think I'm on the right side of history - the one without delusions, virtue signaling, ego trips and 'feelings above everything' mentality
