For some reason theScore stopped sending me notifications even though all the settings are on and toggled etc.

All I really want to know is when a game is starting and where I can watch it, so this might do.

Quick edit: it does not tell me where I can watch it, so it won't do.

It doesn’t tell you where to watch it

It doesn’t tell you where to watch it

It also doesn't seem to give me alerts before game start. It suggests it in Spotlight, it suggests Live Activities (which were on by default yet not working for the games last weekend) but doesn't just remind me before game start like TheScore would.

Actually, I found out it does but not directly. Tap open in Apple TV and there will be links to where to watch it. Which is actually better. It may not have the right answer every time but that’s a nice touch.

Edit: and if you tap in to the game, at the bottom it does just say where to watch.

So, anyone know how to make it work? I have two teams currently playing which are selected to have live activities started automatically, but no live activity has started yet...

Is this US only or US and Canada?

I'm guessing there are no rumours about expansion into the EU, Asia and Australia. Is there any technical reason preventing expansion?

Just figured it out. Open the details for the game you want followed and then click on the TINY “clock” icon on the top right corner.

I hope it's fixed the "My Teams" feature. I added the Texas Rangers because I was going to a game last month - since then, I've removed them from "My Teams" pretty much every day and they keep showing back up.

The Sports app worked perfectly last night. It automatically started the Live Activity for the MLB team I follow and then also added another baseball game and the football game without any problem. It was crazy having three games on the lock screen and in the Smart Stack on the watch. Good job, Apple. Now make a watch version of this app.

In the Watch app, check a few things:
  • Go to Smart Stack and see if "Allow Live Activities" and "Auto-Launch Live Activities" are enabled.
  • On the same Smart Stack page, scroll up until you see "Sports" under "Mirror iPhone Live Activities From:", tap it and then enable "Mirror Live Activity from iPhone" and select "Smart Stack" under "Auto-Launch".
That should do it.

I'm just been fiddling about with it and it looks like, with the game I've chosen to follow, it shows at the top of my widgets. As in, swipe up on the Watch face and it should be there.

All I did to get it working was click the 'clock' thing within the app (top right of the game you're viewing) and it automatically added it to my iPhone lock screen, the iPhone's the 'dynamic island' and at the top of my Watch widgets.

Very nice indeed.

I hope that some other football (soccer) leagues are added (including the English FA & League cups). Then I can safely get rid of some of the other sports apps I have.

Yep, that worked for me last night too. And if you select specific teams to follow in the app, their games will show up in the Dynamic Island, lock screen and watch when the game begins without you having to do anything.

thanks, I do have those enabled and yet nothing ... maybe need to reboot

Thanks, as I mentioned above, have all the settings right and nothing shows on the watch ;(
will figure it out eventually

Good luck.

It probably goes without saying, but have you tried a force restart of both the iPhone and the Watch?

That should be good. I'm just following a random Champions League game at the moment, but will be good at the weekend when my designated team should 'auto-start' (with any luck).

watchOS 11?
Yup, upgraded this morning ;)
I toggled the settings on the watch itself but didn’t make a difference…
And there are 2 teams playing right now that I had “started” in the Sports app on the phone quite some time back, and it works fine on the phone… and the upper right hand “watch” toggle on the phone app, not clear which way it should be, so I have them set the opposite from each other…

Well, my team game didn't auto-start yesterday, which was a bit disappointing. I have the team set as a favourite.
Has anyone else had problems with this?

Unfortunately, even for My Teams, the Live Activity doesn’t launch automatically for me - I have to go in and tap the little clock icon in upper right of the game. Is there a setting I’m missing?
