Apple Sports App Updated With Live Scores on iPhone's Lock Screen and More New Features

Unfortunately, even for My Teams, the Live Activity doesn’t launch automatically for me - I have to go in and tap the little clock icon in upper right of the game. Is there a setting I’m missing?

It’s the same for me now, worked when I enabled it first I think on Tue but not anymore, and when u turn it on like you describe, it works fine in the phone but doesn’t work at all on watch…
If I find the time, I’ll contact Apple to see what I might be missing

Not available in Poland and I see also the rest of Europe.
No pressure… Polish Keyboard on AW, then Fitness+ then maybe Siri 🤡

That should be good. I'm just following a random Champions League game at the moment, but will be good at the weekend when my designated team should 'auto-start' (with any luck).

Problem is for my team (Newcastle United), it won’t show games from 2 of the 3 cups we are in this season, including during this coming week.
Although it’s not a major problem for me, if I’m not at work, I’m watching the match, and if I am at work, I have the radio on.
Still it would be a nice thing to have to glance at my phone to see live scores without having to use an app or safari tab. It would also be much more useful for more casual fans, and fans who can’t make it to watch or listen to the match.

As I have said in a previous post, Apple should really have just bought Flash scores. They have live updates for sports across the world, including all the American sports, and all competitions in football (soccer), including non-league in England.

Absolutely. So responsive to support requests too. I use apple sports only for the live activities.

If live scores show as activities automatically.. THAT WOULD BE GREAT! It says it in the app, but I need to see it in action to become a believer

I’ve noticed that live activities is hit and miss for updates. Delays is updating scores for the MLB playoffs. Today with live activities set for the KC Yankees game it didn’t update the score a few times. And when it did I got no notification. Like I said hit and miss.

Here’s something I’ve noticed… I keep live activities off on my Ultra 2 watch. Prior to watch OS11 any live activities notifications would pop up like most notifications on the watch.

Now with live activities off on the watch and the iPhone is locked, any notification update of scores doesn’t appear anywhere… the Lock Screen just shows the change. Not sure I like that. If the iPhone isn’t locked you get the notification.
