It’s going to be 5g later this year at best. Next year for A14X and mini led. 18 month cycles for the IPP
Rather than retrofit 5G into this 4th gen (which they could do, of course), it makes more sense to roll it in with A14X and mini-LED for the 5th gen. There’s not much to be gained by releasing 5G a few months early. And that allows Apple and Qualcomm to focus on iPhone 12.

This would mean late 2021 for 5g. It is possible

I think we will see 5G and A14x this year but mini led i don’t think we will see til the end of October as can’t see them releasing in March/October and again in March/April in 2021...

Because it’s on an 18-month cycle.
It’s been more like sixteen months, which would put it at more like July or August, but that also means all of the rumors about 4Q2020 or 1Q2021 are wrong.

And if it’s really going to be late 2021, I suppose that also means A15X. But sure, it’s possible.

I… really don’t care about 13 or 21 months. It seems to be roughly a year and a half.

And yes, I think the next one will feature an A15X.

Samsung tablets are more consumption-heavy. iPad Pro is production-oriented, so color accuracy matters, and OLED is garbage at that.

Apple calibrates OLED that’s why the iPhone OLED received the highest rating at DisplayMate for color accuracy, can’t believe you’re not aware of this by now, you’re outdated when it comes to OLED now go back to crappy LCD

Add to that the huge list of desktop apps like Terminal, Xcode, Matlab, Handbrake (don't forget Boot Camp!) that I cannot run on iOS/iPadOS.

Check out Termius on iPad. You won’t miss Terminal.

I thought the iPad Pro was the high end iPad... So now we're going to have a high end high end iPad?

it depends if it is really that expensive, an iPadPro that will be able to run MacOS in ARM mode because of more cpu power And memory at $1200 and would be able to run IOS, would put its price in a different perspective. At least for me.....

I will receive my ipad pro12.9 next Monday, I think it is a good ipad but also expensive and it would annoy me that Apple launched a new model this year or before June of next year as was usual these years...
Do you think I should return it or just enjoy it and...
perhaps if they release a new model in 2021 and the ipad pro changes a lot, I could sell it and buy the new one, what do you think?
I hate that they don't respect the deadlines of the releases🤪

I'm in the same boat but there will always be something new on the horizon and if you send too long in these forums you may end up procrastinating forever! Open it, enjoy it and avoid rumours about the next thing.

The 12.9 variant would only serve as a ‘desktop application’ for me, in terms of mobility, it’s just too unwieldy and large for everyday portability with holding. But this will be the perfect iPad paired with the Apple keyboard for a stationary device for me.

Respectfully disagree. People constantly roaming from meeting to meetings in professional setting with legal pads in portfolios that are bigger than the 12.9 & less functional.

There is always something better around the corner, just enjoy it. Before i got the pro i had an Air for 5 years that still works pretty good minus atrocious battery life.

That’s the beautiful and amazing thing about technology today. Every year something better!
What worries me is that someday there may be stagnation and change moves slowly.
