What's the point when vast majority fit a case and screen protector?

If a cell phone needs either one, then the design is a failure. They should be sufficiently durable for normal use out of the box. (This is one reason why I don't use an Iphone.)

Or Apple could go the other way. It is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the first ever iPhone after all so maybe for a bit of nostalgia it could go back to that original memory configuration - 128MB or RAM and either 4GB, 8GB or 16GB of flash storage.

Not a serious suggestion obviously but sometimes it's all too easy to forget - at least for me - just how dramatic the increases in RAM and flash storage capacities have been over the last 20 years.
It’s insane to think that the first iPhone only had 128MG of RAM.

Mind you, my 2009 iMac 🖥️ only had 512MB of RAM.

It made a huge difference when I slotted in another 512MB to - gasp! - just over 1GB.

And another gasp - those are the days when you could double the ram for just £30 (I’m in the uk) and install it yourself in minutes. Imagine that.

Honestly the only thing I want from this iPhone is for it to lay flat on a desk, no more camera bump, island wahtever... If they have to make the iPhone 2 mm thicker to do that I'm all for it, it could make room for a larger battery, better thermal etc.

I literally said yesterday when you posted it was being cancelled that within a day youd post saying its not cancelled. SMH. I understand your a rumor site but have some creditability in reporting and not literally dispute 2 articles within hours of one another LOL. Here is an idea, Report rumors that seem reputable vs posting conflicting reports back to back lol

I don’t understand what is so confusing about it.
It’s going to look like a thicker iPhone Air, but with a curved front. And a massive camera bump on the back.
And the front is going to have the same type of wide angle display that some Apple watches do, where it looks like your content is spilling off the edges. It goes very well with the new floating control bars everywhere.

I don’t think it’s a 20th anniversary model or anything like that, though, just the next design for the pro.

Exactly this. It’s literally the Apple Watch edges. Not sure why people are so confused about it.

Heres the reality for me...I. DONT. CARE. I might be buying the Fold 2/Ultra 2 what ever the hell they end up calling it, if i dont have to sell a kidney and take out a 3rd morgage on my house to get it. And just like every other phone i buy, im putting it in the most protective, functional, comfortable case i can afford to put on it, know why?

Cause in nearly 20 years of using iphones, i never once cracked a screen or broke a phone even with the ocasional drops. Why? I HAVE CASES AND SCREEN PROTECTORS ON THEM. I've never once resold or traded in a phone in anything less but near mint condition because i invest in cases and screen protectors.

You can design the phone how ever you want to design it. As long as it doesnt bend easly, or is so delicate that normal every day use is going to damage it, i just dont care. It has to feel comfortable to use in the hand, fast, and reliable.

Im even holding out on buying the fold until i know if it can survive a day at the beach. The Samsung phones cant. they got lousy dust and water resistant raitings.

I dont get this form over function mentality where if the phone cant survive the real world, then whats the use of it?

I've had an iPhone since 2008. I have never used a case and almost never a screen protector. Only one time have I broken a screen, when my phone slid off the kitchen counter and landed on ceramic tile flooring.

They're phones, not the ark of the covenant.

And then we have the 2012 MBP Unibody. Did you know that if your iMac has DDR3 RAM, you can have more than 1GB of RAM? That is only if you do want more than 1GB of RAM.

Having had the old Samsung phone with the curved screen, my biggest complaint was that it was difficult to hold without it thinking you were tapping where your fingers were holding it. You had to basically lay it flat in your hand in order to scroll. Hopefully that is solved here.

and if you had a case on it, it would have likely protected it.
