Explain like I’m 5:

Since Apple is talking about importing from India. Can’t they just import to India as a medium from china then ship from India to the states?

I’m fearing they are preparing their invasion soon

I think that would be illegal and put Apple's reputation at risk. What they could do is import parts from China and do the assembly in India or Vietnam. As of now anything with the stamp Made in China will be taxed 104%

Edit: 125% not 104%

He didn't cave, it's called negotiating. Every other country has come to the table on Tariffs except China, which he is now giving an even bigger middle finger to.
His approval rating is in the toilet. Other countries have not caved to the US. Republicans have always historically been terrible for the US economy. They're focused on rolling back "DEI" initiatives and trans rights -- going so far as to go after private companies and corporations for their social policies, all while the rest of the world sees what an idiot Trump is. The midterms will be brutal for them (rightfully so).

All that, and eggs are still expensive and gas prices are rising. Weren't those the key issues Trump ran on?

Enough of it can be sourced from the other suppliers that Apple can probably avoid any real hit - it just means the US bound products will come from non-China factories wherever possible.
And even it was wasn't quite enough, they could just assemble devices in China like they do now and just box them in India. Or even box them in China, send them to India to do the final seal on the box, then ship them out. Launder them in India, in a way.

Not sure what cave you live in but most countries are now lowering or zero-ing out tariffs they charge the US....so yeah they did cave. Also egg prices are slowly coming down. And if you can't afford a couple bucks more for eggs, good luck buying a home or a car right now (which have gone up insanely under the last administration). Also the price of oil is greatly down in recent weeks.

Get outside your bubble!

I live in a major metropolitan area in the United States of America. LOL.

And I own a home and a car (both paid off). I make six figures in my stable career. I'm well off. I'm speaking generally, for all the people who don't have the luxury of decent wages/income and who can't afford rent and groceries.

And where did you hear that "most countries" are now lowering tariffs on American products? Entertainment channel Fox News?

Volatility is not a sane economic policy.

Trust in America and this administration is totally shot.

How could anyone believe anything they say?
Or sign a deal with them?

To say nothing of "committing to long term CapEx in the US"
It'd be completely irresponsible business leadership to commit to anything in or with the current USA.

But why would it be illegal? I’m curious what law that would be breaking.

Well, anyway, I wonder what this means for US/Canadian Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders, since launch will occur within these 90 days?
