No doubt. Also, no doubt that he and any of his advisers that were part of the decision gave their families and cronies advance notice. Anyone else would be prosecuted... but SCOTUS chose to give this clown immunity.
None of the agencies have got powers left to do anything against him and his cohorts. That is the truly scary part when there are no checks and balances left.
Not exactly true... the agencies, Congress and the Courts have the power. It's just that they have been corrupted to the extent that they won't exercise it.
There are very good reasons why he pulled back, do some research. The bond market and the dollar were collapsing. When the stock market tanks everyone goes to a safe haven which is normally bonds. When both stocks and bonds are collapsing at the same time its a sure sign of a disaster.
Remember that these "tariffs" were just made up numbers based on trade balances with every country. They made no sense at all. The only area where tariffs might make some sense to claw back some manufacturing is with China, but only if the West and our allies elsewhere like Aus approached this in a united front. But, no, Trump actually attacked our allies and many other countries for no reason. Just stupid.

The world view of America is now very negative. Everyone has realised that America is not a reliable friend or partner, and cannot be trusted when they sign an agreement. If you look at the whole picture. Nato, tariffs, treatment of immigrants, Statements from both Trump and Vance on the world stage, attacks on universities and law firms. Vance yesterday called Chinese people peasants, Trump said everyone wants to kiss his ass to get a deal. And the abandonment of the poor in the world by cutting USaid.
That is not how friends and allies acts. I don't see this being repaired. I live in Europe and I can tell you when I go to the store or supermarket I will check every product I buy and ensure its not made in the USA. The Canadians are already doing this and it is already happening with Tesla in the rest of the world and will get worst.

Obviously a president knows when they are making a decision that will affect stocks. Nothing new there. Except for Biden. I don't think he knew where he was, let alone what "he" was doing.
Others can feel free to step up and take our spot, but they won't. Because we're expected to be everyone's saviors. Let Americans suffer so some people in Africa can be better off? No thanks. Time to put us #1. Let everyone else save themselves.
