Apple stock quote on main page?

I love how AppleInsider puts a little Apple stock quote in the courner of their main page. Would it be possible to do the same on MR? It would save me and perhaps others the time of switching over to their site or any other stock site.
 
I'd also appreciate it...I sold my Apple stock at the high, so it's not in my portfolio updates anymore. I could set up a watchlist or use the stock widget, but then those are a click or button press away. In fact, if I want to check AAPL's stock price, I click my AppleInsider bookmark. It would be nice to have it on MR, since I'm already here.
 
Ok but would it be realtime or a refresh deal, I would think hitting the refresh button is more work and if its live updating won't that suck bandwidth?

Personally, I can do without it. There are times (like, over the past month), when I make a point of not knowing.
 
Ya say the stock starts to tank, do people want to see that as they watch their money disappear.
 
I think it would be out of place and make it look cluttered. Where are you suggesting it should be located?
 
I'd also like to have it on the main page. With regards to the Stock Widget, at my school they only have PC's (running Firefox, so it's not that bad), so I don't have Dashboard. I check my e-mail and I check Macrumors, but I always have to manually (grr) navigate over to google.com to check how AAPL is doing for the day.

Maybe link the ticker statement to a nasdaq.com summary update? Those updates are very informational.

EDIT I also say non-live-update; I'm fine with clicking 'refresh', and that you could put it on the far right of the page, to the right of the "Got Mac Rumors/News? Submit it" in very small font, but on the right-most side of that little bar.
 
I don't mind it so much, just not sure where it would go. I'll think about it.

i use dashboard, to check that and google just to know, infact this thread has inspired me to buy Nintendo and Sony on my stock checker!
 
I also would like to see the quote, there is just a big random space under the search bar anyway

Sorry guys, I agree, new tar sucks. I was hoping someone would recognise the images and get the joke😉
