Apple Store 5s Orders are Preparing for Shipment

I tried finding one in the stores and had no such luck. Ordered Sept. 20 3:46pm and its still processing. ATT 64gb Gold 
Apple.com iPhone 5S Order Shipping Status: "Preparing for Shipment"
We may be getting them Monday like the people who ordered through their carrier.
One can only hope, right?
I called Apple to change my shipping, and she said that all the iPhones automatically have the fastest shipping available. For those that paid the $10, they should call to get it refunded.
Then she said, I can't change it because your phone is already being delivered by Fed Ex. I was like oh, really? I checked the website and there's not a tracking number. She said there will be soon, but it's 100% being delivered by Fed Ex. I don't know if that helps at all.

Hopefully mine will change soon then. I ordered at 03:02am/eastern. 16GB Space Gray with no upgrade shipping. I know in years past you can check either Fedex or UPS website and search by reference number to find your shipment. You use your order phone number as the reference number. I will try this once my order changes to preparing for shipment.
Not to sound negative, but as one who's bought computers phones & iPads from Apple Online "preparing for shipment" only means you're credit card cleared (good news) they've got all the info they need (also good news).
But unlike the verbiage may lead us to believe, it's not on the cusp of shipping. An items status can remain as "preparing for shipment for one, to as many as several days as they catch up with demand.
I have nothing but good things to say about Apple billing & shipping procedures. They're by far the best. Just don't forget you're just one of millions, a task any company would take a while to complete.

People that order 1-3 days will be upgraded to expedited automatically. Everyone else needs to upgrade manually.
what form of payment did everyone use? I used debit and ordered at 3:05 am and its still processing.
