and how is that more useful than just looking at those details currently displayed on the desk next to the product?
many stores have iPads/tablets specifically for this next to products as well as signs.

I don't want to shop unless I can rub my greedy little hands all over the product, like let me feel how the latest iPhone fits in my hands, ya know? 😩

This is what I miss about shopping decades ago. I could go in BB and find four of something I wanted with different features/prices. Get decision paralysis and then finally pick something. Not the same online.

AR/VR is at best a solution looking for a problem.
We are still waiting for the killer app.
Well, the Watch did take off without it, unless you count peoples obsessiveness over numbers regarding to health and fitness.
I don't think this AR stuff will make sense until the glasses or the headset is available. There's just something lame about having to hold up a small screen at arms length to see some AR overlays. It just feels pointless. It's a pain to hold up the phone, and since your just looking at a little screen it's not particularly impressive or useful. It needs to be right on your eyeballs.

A nice gimmick, but I don't expect it will lead to widespread adoption of AR. The killer app is still missing. Who knows whether it will ever arrive?
Attack of the Killer App!

Yea sad that and gambling will probably take at least half of the usage
It will definitely be exciting. Just as you can listen to music while driving or do without supplementary stimuli, you will probably do the same with glasses and optical supplements. For example, I personally have currently gotten into the habit of driving car without music or audio books. That was different in the past and has a different effect on me. So in the future, even with glasses, you will or can filter out more or less optical insertions depending on the situation, cognition, operating system or reflection status. These will be exciting times and we will get to know ourselves even better.

I think it will get more exciting once software appears. Cool applicatiions will draw more in as long as they can afford the HW

Yes, and new local information infrastructures will certainly have to emerge, and Apple has the capital and creative resources to frame this crucial battle.

To take a look at a very small niche: Did you like the headphone tours in museums, for example? I have never liked them, but it was a first try with the technology of that time.

Personally, I'm curious to see if the world's most famous fashion houses will soon collaborate with Apple to come up with creative ideas that invite us to find the things and offers we covet more quickly in their showrooms. The sales staff will then welcome us for final customization.
And before that, we had already seen ourselves virtually in our glasses, walking up and down our apartment with clothes from the catalog.

Apple AR/VR 😂 for $3000 SMH

As long it’s not thin and stylish for daily use like normal glasses and cost $500-$1000 it won’t find a large adoption. These large like diving glasses AR/VR glasses will only find useful niche scenarios e.g. games, product visualization and development and the whole Apple platform is one of the worst platforms for this kind of purpose.

Wake me up in 20 years! 🥱😴

Don’t go there. It won’t be like this. It will be much worse than this. Nepo babies are taught to defend the crimes and scams of the oligarchy and do worse than their parents did. Eroding democracy and brainwashing the youth is the only way to protect their inheritance.

No chance for Russians to introduce these achievements equally as America and Europe, Apple will continue to boycott Russia.

... but why though? The information about the product is printed right next to it?

Or displayed on it? Am I missing something?
If you have a technology that you want others to adopt, and you can market a practical application for it in a controlled environment, this is ideal. Apple has over 500 such environments worldwide, with over 1M customer visits per day.
