Because Apple stores aren’t overcrowded and hectic enough without people wondering round staring through their phones. Although to be honest, I don’t many would bother anyway.
Yea that could be cool to put the items in your cart and pay. Like how he did the files on DisclosureI’ve got it!
An AR version of an Apple Store that you can walk around in and shop for Apple products all within the comfort of your own home!
I’d pay $3000 for that.
I wonder if this stuff will become so realistic that people won't want to do the real thing, and then they will charge for VR vacationsI am really looking forward to an AR/VR future. Pick up a travel brochure and see a video walk through of the hotel rooms, read a technical article, blink twice, gaze detected and an expert provides further explanation with video if required, full integration with ChatGPT like software that provides information that combines what one is looking at with a question about it to provide both text, audio, and video information, a full movie screen floating in the air while seated in an airplane, walking directions with arrows that help one find the next presentation at a large conference or convention center, working with a developmentally challenged child one-to-one being guided by expert real-time AI advice based on visual and auditory data, all the home fixit videos easily referenced right in front of you, hands free, and on and on. This is going to be as life changing as was the iPhone.
Yea I remember being so excited about having somewhat of real websites and no more garbage Media Netthere was no app store when the iphone came out and the killer app was slowly accessing the internet.
Apple watch took years to be adopted without any real killer apps at launch.
This headset is clearly not for average consumers, but is a starting point of a long journey.
The headset isn't essential for AR at all. It will enhance experiences but certainly isn't required.
However, if you don't make anything, nothing will develop.......
Apple did not boycott Russia in any way, they were demanded to stop activities there by (inter)national orders, that's totally different. Apple would love pull the pants down for Russia again, just like they pull down for china. No chance for Russians to introduce these achievements equally as America and Europe, Apple will continue to boycott Russia.
I had to laugh. You need to get to know some women. At home you could be watching television. Then suddenly your wife pauses the film and you wonder why. So she points her phone or puts on the AR glasses and on the television she can find out what her favorite actress is wearing in that scene. She likes the jacket and now she can bring up product details. Then she can buy the jacket right there or bookmark it for later and you carry on watching the film.
I'm pretty sure my wife would do that too if we had the ability, especially with shoes.I had to laugh. You need to get to know some women.
imagine all the people trying to track which Rick Owens season David Rose wears on Schitts CreakI'm pretty sure my wife would do that too if we had the ability, especially with shoes.

Yep, still a solution in search of a problem...A nice gimmick, but I don't expect it will lead to widespread adoption of AR. The killer app is still missing. Who knows whether it will ever arrive?

Went to a Microsoft Store in Seattle a couple years back. They have AR for surgeons and the medical field. However, in addition to that niche, the stuff will set you back 5 to 6 figures, so the prices and usages are definitely not for consumers.A nice gimmick, but I don't expect it will lead to widespread adoption of AR. The updated combat goggles will address test results from last year when 70 soldiers wore the current version during three 72-hour scenarios simulating combat conditions. The results showed that the soldiers suffered “headaches, eyestrain and nausea” and that the system had too many “failures of essential functions.” In addition, more than 80 percent of soldiers who reported discomfort began experiencing it less than three hours into the 72 hours test.
Thanks for sharing clips, watched them. What a contrast: Looking out the window, view of the forest, snow on the ground, quiet, warm late afternoon light, no desire for VR … AR, just for reading MR over real coffee …This:
and:
Both fairly dystopian but I'm sure we'll see some of this in the future.
As far as the Macs are concerned, it'd be wayyyyy less trouble to just look on the screen of the Mac itself, where all of this information is displayed already. Those of you who have looked at Macs in-store will know what I'm talking about.A future version of the Apple Store app will offer an augmented reality feature that allows customers to point their iPhone toward a product like a Mac in an Apple Store and instantly receive more information about pricing and specifications in an overlay on their screen, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
I have this opinion about VR glasses.....They look stupid. But the people saying I am silly for making such comments don't understand the use of these. Years ago when this started 5 years ago, there was a boom in sales of VR glasses here in japan. Why because 18 years and older men were bought for porn. Oh, yea gaming is a thing, yes, but the outreach is that of the adult industry.A guy can walk into an Apple Store wearing the Apple goggles and not get funny looks...I am just browsing🤩
