Apple Store Down - 26th Feb - New Macbooks/pros??

That thread is specifically about the MBPs and is not really about the apple store going down today, seeing as it was started on 01-29-2008.

Still has US Store access here. I've cleared my cache too.

It shows the usual message when the Store is down when you go to it from mainpage... but when you click the Store link again, it appears to be up. So... my guess is that it's supposed to be down and somebody forgot to take the direct link offline.

from what I can see, the US store is still down at 0620 NY time. I have done a CTRL+F5 just to make sure.
As 1 Million MacRumors Forum members are sitting at their computers hitting refresh on their browsers every minute waiting for the new MBP's to appear.
This is great, I am literally jumping up and down in my seat at work, they already know how much I am into this!!!
Are we getting the iPhone SDK today?, considering its the last Tuesday before month end and the SDK is meant to come in February.

I am not sure that they would do a worldwide down for the SDK - will you be able to buy it through the standard store?
I thought it would be a business to business only app

The SDK likely got pushed back a few weeks, given recent rumors.
I'm also not sure the SDK would be a store down event? I don't know how apple plans on distributing it, but I'd think it'd be some free addition to XCode or something you can only get if you're an apple developer?
I think SKD would require a mini-event introduction.
The MBP, however, doesn't need one because it's a refresh/update, which is what's going to happen in a few hours time.
Anyone know how many hours it usually takes to update the store??

They would not need to put the retail store down to launch a software development kit. Do you people even know what an SDK is?

yeh..but...what your forgetting...
is that the SDK is supposed to be coming out near or around the same tie as the Firmware update. Us iPod Touch and iPhone users have been patientently waiting and are very deserving of this coming moment....You are right they would need NOT to close the store for this though...

And of course you have inside knowledge of how Apple will be distributing the SDK, and of course, the Apps?
It is for consumers, indirectly...
With the SDK means some way of installing apps, likely new Apple apps (plus probably 3rd party apps) and other 3rd party killer apps will be developed all the sooner.
