Sorry, I'm new to this preordering stuff, but...

When can I expect my iPad mini to be delivered? Because it says "Available to ship: Delivers 11/2" which seems to suggest that it'll be in my mailbox on the 2nd, but then below that it says "Delivers Within 5 days after shipping by Standard Shipping."

Nov 2nd for sure. You can 100% bet on it.

That was very fast. Ordered the 16GB black LTE model with red smart cover.
I feel a bit stupid for ordering the LTE model since I got the iPad 3rd gen LTE model and barely used the LTE. I'm justifying it again since I expect this model to be a lot more portable. If I don't use LTE yet again then I'll have learned my lesson for future purchases.

Got black 16gb wifi. Sure why not. If I don't use I'll return it or pass on a holiday gift

It's true that the iPhone 5 has a retina display, has great battery life, is super light, and is the thinnest smartphone available. The question is could they have gotten even better battery life without a retina display. They had to put a retina display since there aren't any tiered models of the iPhone (with new SKUs).
Believe me, I hope I'm wrong and that I'm just over-thinking this. I would love a retina mini and would seriously love a retina MacBook Air.

That makes sense, but the iPhone 5 shows that the display can be thin, with in-cell touch etc. and have good battery life. I do tend to agree with you but I could still envision one, we'll see.

I really do want to see the rumor come true of a full sized pad shaved down in thickness and weight, it's currently at the limit for comfort and the long charge time vs the older pads isn't the best.

All done, orders placed, night all.

I have a similar strategy :D

Man this place is empty compared to other Apple launches.... not good.

I think that's because the hardcore apple fans, like me, already have an iPad. Or they're just not interested. So the amount of people staying up to preorder won't be as many. But I think(and hope) in a few months, everybody else will be buying these, I bet it even out sales the regular iPads. A lot of people I've talked to today dosnt even know there was an iPad mini.

It'll be a slow launch, but will do awesome in a few months.

But I've been wrong before.

**** Apple and its Store Down BS!

I was actually up - just got home and remembered it was midnight, so I was like why not. Let's buy one and the stupid store went down at midnight and I checked again at 12:40am and it was still down. I said F it and went to bed, woke up its sold out.

The idea that they bring the entire store down whenever they make a minor change is just BS. I bought the iPad 4 because I need the 4G and better camera, but I'm done with Apple. I ordered the surface and will play with it for the next week if it's good, I'm cancelling my iPad Order.

Just sick of Apple and their games. Although I do think the 3s is a decent upgrade from the 2. I'm just hoping the Surface is good and the 5 or 6 Apps that I really need are available in the Windows Store (Which I suspect won't be) in the next two weeks.

I tried Android Tablets and just don't like them or Android, so I'm pulling for Surface to be really good. Apple NEEDs competition.

Does any1 know if the ipad mini is compatible with any wireless keyboards and if so does any1 have a good reasonable priced one they recommend. Thanks

Well, my iPhones since the 3gs has paired nicely with the apple bluetooth wireless keyboard, so I would assume the ipad mini would also.

Even if you don't activate Cellular, it's good to have for the GPS radio. GPS nav apps are awesome and don't need active cellular to function. Plus, you can activate cellular as needed in a pinch. I think it's worth it, but that's only my option.

Ewwwww!!!

Nah it's fantastic; been using the free final version since it came available, and haven't looked back. Really nice to have it primary now instead of on a 32GB partition lol.

The free formerly known as metro MS games are great, although MS feeling they have to have ad-support to keep things free is a bit hilarious. The rest of the metro stuff is really nice -now- after the updates since RTM, and the desktop implementation is only better as far as I can see.

Anyway, good to see it looks like the mini is selling well; think I'll wait for in-person .. and maybe compare to W8 tablets, although surface has no release planned for NZ yet :(. Then again, it's a month since the iPhone 5 launch and you *still* cannot buy a spare lightning cable here, let alone an adapter, so maybe waiting ain't so good lol.

That's true. The GPS plus the vector-based maps might make it worth it even without using the LTE. Thanks :)

Sure it does. It will be updated next year with a retina display, more RAM and a faster processor. And everyone can go by another one the way it should have been initially.

death. smh

Apple is a mess for that. No reason to buy this iPad AT ALL. I feel like retina is the Apple standard now. How dare they leave it out...
