This keynote should be bigger than there iPhone event, A lot of their line up needs a refresh badly, Looking forward to new iPad Pros and to see if they give us any sneak peak at the mac pro :p

Do we need a news thread every time the Apple store is closed for updates??
I mean, we know this happens every time before an event - and its hardly news......

I hate the time of this event. Their "normal" event time is perfect for me. I can watch it right after work.

Oh well.. guess i'll just leave early lol

Please, Macbook-like laptop with 14" screen (aka low budget 15" MBP). Ok, not gonna happen...

My (very realistic) prediction: new iPads, updated non-touchbar 13", discontinued MBA, updated iMac with new internals, updated Mac Mini with new internals.

I hope for a surprise. No real leaks except the iPad ones, so maybe...

It will be funny if Cook starts yelling like he did last keynote - that was just full of cringe imo :)

Oh God, I didn't even watch the last keynote. I wasted two hours of my life watching the most boring WWDC keynote in history earlier this year so I skipped the September one seeing as we all knew everything that was being announced in advance.

Maybe I'll go back and watch it, just for the entertainment of the cringe.

Three things I’m most curious about:

  • Does the MBA branding live another day
  • Will the iPad Pro be USB-C and if so what adapter will they ship with it and will older Apple Pencil’s work with it (also will the new Pencil work with older Pros)
  • Assuming there’s s new iPad Pro keyboard will it have a trackpad that supports all the gestures currently available

I've waited 8 friggin' years for a new Mac Pro. I don't care if they don't show, just mention it… let me know it's coming, and preferably when – '2019' could be any time in the next 12-13 months (figuring an October or November launch isn't out of the question). I just know today will be disappointing. Although I could maybe pick up a new Mac mini for a laugh.

Seems silly that they close the store down. I get it, its one of those tools they use to increase the excitement, but on the other hand, preventing people from buying, is kind of odd.

I always feel the same way. I mean, they have to sell this new iPhone which is on the market for just a few days now. It's quite arrogant actually...but it seems to work anyway.

I hear you brother.

So they should close the brick and mortar stores then.

To be fair, if I walk into an Apple Store shortly before or during the keynote and say I want an iPad Pro, the Sales Associate will hopefully tell me to wait a moment (or point me to the Event simulcast if they stream them in the stores).

Besides, it also prevents people from buying stuff like iPhones or products that won't get updated.

Yes, they could specifically exclude the items not being updated, but then that tips off what they will be talking about. :D

I think it is the right moment to take a little step back and to make a point of respect and admiration towards Apple. It is absolutely unparalleled how a company can create a hype and is able to keep the spotlight on themselves. I am literarily excited, like it is my birthday, over this event! Yesterday the internet went bonkers because of an ICON that had leaked. AN ICON. People were analyzing an ICON of an iPad. It's crazy and I freaking love it! We are collectively obsessing over absolutely nothing (like we couldn't bear another day watching Netflix on a 2017 iPad pro) and it creates, for me at least, a friendly nerd-world far away from all the terrible bomb scares, terror threats and misery we see in the news. So Tim, I am ready for you! Feed me more iPads and Macs! :D

Kids! What do you want for Xmas.

WOW. This list and your wishes are huge.

Yes, we're sorry. The last few years we were busy building our state of the art campus to our "grandeur".

But, we're catching up. You will love our new toys.

- Where's Amazon without Bezos
- Where's Tesla without Musk

No pressure Mr. Cook... It's your event.

Hoping for a little info on the new Mac Pro, like a few others.

However, with AMD releasing Thread Ripper 2 this year and Thread Ripper 3 always announced for next year apple need to be very careful how much they try and screw people over with the pricing of the new Mac Pro.

AMD releasing that and for that price point hasn't just deflated Apples little money earner it's put a massive great 80mm hole in it. For Cost/Core Intel can't or more likely won't come close to it.

Before anyone complains that OSX is better than W10 - it isn't, for ease of use they are on par. Once you are in a piece of Software the OS makes no difference.

This is going to be a very interesting Event. Let's face it, in all honesty there isn't much to beat from recent years. The only way is up.

No. Some fanboys woke up and looked mildly interested. That's about all.

Outside the Apple bubble there is next to no coverage of this event. Perhaps if something genuinely surprising is announced then it'll get some mention in the tech pages. Nobody is interested in laptop and desktop hardware upgrades anymore.
