Honestly a lot of their products should have just been taken off the store a long time ago until they can be replaced. The original g4 Mac mini was my first Mac and I loved the form factor, but there’s no way I could have recommended anyone to buy one in the state it was in. I feel bad for people dropping a lot of money on completely outdated tech
That's how I started using Mac got the G4 MacMini since then Macs all the way to MacBook and now 27" iMac. But for $799 MacMini I probably just tell them to buy PC because they have to buy monitor too and all the accessories needed.

Why can't they figure out functionality on laptops?! You need more then just 2 USB-C ports. The whole right side only has a headphone jac. They could've put in another USB-C or a flash card reader

No room for anything but the 100 year old headphone jack that’s unecessary on an iPhone.

Store already up, and everything purchased. Expensive morning! 245G iPad Pro 11" with pencil and new keyboard.

No iMac refresh and no update on the Mac Pro. Apple is dead to me. So many people in my industry are jumping ship and this seals the deal.

No new iMac! I’ve been waiting to upgrade for a year.

Apple has taken down its online store ahead of today's event in New York, scheduled to begin 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Howard Gilman Opera House.

Apple's October event will focus on products not introduced at the iPhone-centric event in September. On that occasion, Apple failed to take down its sitemap XML leading up to the event, resulting in a raft of major leaks ahead of the keynote. That's not the case this time around.

We're still awaiting multiple product refreshes before the end of 2018, including updates to several Mac models and the iPad Pro, which are likely to see a debut at the event.

2018 iPad Pro models are expected to adopt an iPhone X-style design with no Home button, slimmer bezels, and a TrueDepth camera system that will enable Face ID for biometric authentication. We could also see a redesigned Apple Pencil with new gesture and swipe features.

Along with new iPad Pro models, we're also expecting refreshes to the MacBook line. Refreshed 12-inch MacBooks are said to be in the works, and according to rumors, Apple has developed a low-cost notebook with a Retina display that could be positioned as an updated MacBook Air.

The Mac mini, which has not been updated for 1,475 days, is expected to be refreshed for the first time since 2014. We don't know a lot about what to expect for the Mac mini update, but upgraded internals and faster processors are certain.

Apple typically streams the event live on its website and on Apple TV, but for those who are unable to watch, MacRumors will be providing full event coverage both on MacRumors.com and through our MacRumorsLive Twitter account.

Readers who can't follow the event live and are interested in avoiding all of the announcements until Apple's posts the full video online can bookmark this page, where we'll post a spoiler-free link once it's up.

And it's time to upgrade my mid-2011 Air. She has been a good soul for many years. Fully-loaded Air is ordered and on the way.

and still no new ipad mini. why is it just bigger, bigger and bigger these days?? hm

For a supposedly Mac centered event, Apple spent a considerable amount of time on non mac stuff. Congratulations to the mac mini and air people, you got some love. Intel's days are numbered if Apple's chip advances continue. What do y'all think?

Yeah, the lack of an upgraded iMac (even a silent upgrade with no on-stage announcement) makes no sense to me. Plus the MacBook is still being offered for $100 more than the new MacBook Air despite its inferiority in almost everything but weight. I don't get this at all.

iPad Pro here I come! I sold mine a couple months ago and miss the 120Hz Screen!
Apples trade in program stinks they wanted to give me $230.00 for a trade in on my i pad pro 256GB 2nd gen ebay here it comes.
[doublepost=1540914375][/doublepost]What's with only two colors Apple bring back the gold.

They are pricing people out I think with Mac Mini Starting at $800.
If The MBA starts at $1200, whats going to happen to the macbook? They have to go surely.

I think they do know what people want, it's just that people here on MacRumors probably aren't their target audience, unfortunately.

They force it on schools, they are dumb enough to buy in bulk and as long as they do Apple with make products like we saw today.
[doublepost=1540915993][/doublepost]Ok so what have we learned today?

Macbook Air - This was the one I was waiting for. I was hoping that they kept the ports, better screen and keep the keyboard. What did they do? The screen got much better but they completely DESTROYED everything else.

Mac Mini - Was not going to buy one but I used to have one before and although it is rather pricey I like the Mini. But wait, why does the mini have HDMI and USB Type A ports on it? If it has those ports why could you not keep the ports on the Air?

iPad Pro - I don't draw.

Didn't the backdrop at the beginning say something about ipad and ipad mini?

According to the MR blog from the event yes:
"
7:45 am And here's a video. The leaks were right. Face ID, no home button, thinner bezel, magnetic Apple Pencil.
7:45 am All-new iPad Pro, that "is gonna push what you can do on iPad or on any computer even further."
7:44 am Today, iPad Mini, iPad, iPad Pro.
7:43 am More iPads sold than all the biggest notebook manufacturers."
