Can't wait!
If they don't release a good Macbook Air update (ie it has the new keyboard and no ports that I use) then I say GOOD BYE to Apple. Been a loyal customer for 13 years and they don't seem to understand what people want anymore, they just want to sell products that can't be upgraded and/or repaired.

This really is make or break for Apple as far as Pro Audio people are concerned.
If there isn't a proper pro focused desktop (not all in one) then I'm jumping ship to Windows, as are loads of other audio pros.
A lot have already done so.

I don't work with audio but I agree with you, Almost all my friends use Windows now and are rocking Samsung phones. Why pay fantasy prices for less hardware?

I think it is the right moment to take a little step back and to make a point of respect and admiration towards Apple. It is absolutely unparalleled how a company can create a hype and is able to keep the spotlight on themselves. I am literarily excited, like it is my birthday, over this event!:D

Yeah, me too.
It's like you would take a fresh bath. Or even better: like you would first smoke weed, have fist sex etc. Very exciting.

Really looking forward to, 1) Previewing of some service, feature, or product we wont see for years, or only the US market (i.e., Bay area only). 2) No computer releases, 2) Perhaps an iMac refresh, 3) Another laptop line just to confuse people. 4) A "budget" mac mini, with Tim Cook prices (i.e., >$1500)).

In case it's not clear I am not looking forward to any of that.

"One more thing..." wish list of a stand-alone OSX install. Come on! We know you hate building Macs these days Apple and would rather over engineer an iPhone into a four-digit price range. Let us build the computer hardware and you ship the OS. Everybody would be happy.

My predication is multiple accounts/users on the iPad. I think the invitation is an indicator of that - everyone has a different/unique experience.

Yes, building hype pure and simple.

It is probably a legacy inherited from the early days of the Apple online store when it did indeed need to be taken offline for an update.

By now it's part of the tradition. At least it is for me. :)

Meanwhile, I can’t order a watch band I need shipped as a gift to arrive by Friday.

It’s been shut down for 4 hours prior to the event! I can see shutting it down when the event starts for an hour or two at most, but there’s no reason to shut it down for 5-6 hours.

Still beyond me, why the biggest, richest, most innovative, bla bla bla tech company in the world, needs several hours to update their web site/online store. Hype much...

It is hype but it is also a service to people who don't live on Macrumors. So they don't accidentally buy an iPad right now. Hopefully we acknowledge why it goes down and begin to move past making the most obvious comments in the future.

Figures.... I got an iStock notification overnight that the Apple Watch model that I want was in stock at the closest Apple Store. So went to go order it to be able to pick up up later today and of course the online store is down.

Namaste

Seems basically like a new slimmer 13" ntb MBP. I doubt it'll be priced at $999.

Also surprised they kept the Air in the name. Looks bigger and heavier than a MacBook.

The video showed 2560x1600, so that isn't "quadruple the number of pixels" since the MBA was 1440x900 not 1280x800 like Apple's other 13" laptops were.

The audio feed sounds like poo. (For the wireless mics). Massive static when he is talking and heavy noise gate cutting it out during the silent parts.

Why can't they figure out functionality on laptops?! You need more then just 2 USB-C ports. The whole right side only has a headphone jac. They could've put in another USB-C or a flash card reader

The Air has the butterfly keyboard - End of story.

The good thing though is Touch ID without the Touch Bar!

Will be curious to see if the SSDs inside the Mac mini are upgradeable.

Wow 60% price increase on the much anticipated Mac mini, guess apple didn't realize that the $499 price tag was a big part om what made the the Mac mini so appealing to new Mac users. I was willing to dip my toes in the Mac ecosystem for $499, for $799 not so much.
