Stock

I bet that the apple stores got the new machines in stock already, a store employee alluded to a new model to me last week, but I took what he said with a huge grain of salt being that they are usually very tight lipped.. or maybe he was reading the rumor sites too.. lol

Hey guys, please do not constantly refresh apple store pages. Their servers may go down because of your naive refreshing!!!!!

In the UK we now have Distance Selling Regulations which means if you buy online you have 7 working days to send stuff back for a refund, no reason required.

Yeah, I think that's an EU-wide consumer rights law.

In this case I'm pretty sure it's Apple policy rather than EU legislation - though I don't know what legislation there may be, it's not two weeks. In the UK it's covered by the Distance Selling Regulations, which give you a seven day "cooling off" period.

Is that a joke? If not, how exactly is any refreshing naive?

Somehow I don't think a little group of geeks on a rumors forum are going to bring down the server of an international multibillion-dollar computer company.

But I could be wrong.

it's usually back around 8:30am eastern us time

For us people who are too lazy to convert that to our local time, in how many hours is that? :)

I think it might be wishful thinking. The same thing happened to me when I got my MBP in December. I tracked it, it got to the depot in Preston (not even an hour away) on the Saturday afternoon and stayed there until the Monday morning, when it was dispatched for delivery at around 8am.... only to arrive at 3.30pm.

It depends on whether there's anyone who hasn't started a delivery round yet, I guess. I reckon if it isn't dispatched for delivery within the next few hours, you'll get it in the morning.

IF there's an update, it might be wise to not open the MBP, ring Apple, explain the situation and see if you can exchange for a new one, if it's possible.

I would assume Apple would honor any return, considering its not a special order and you are prepared to pay the difference (if any). Plus correct me if i'm wrong, but if you order online...isn't their the distance selling act? meaning your well within your right to returm or exchange... something like 7 or 14 days once you've purchased?

omg, it seems 16:30 uk time then

oh, I thought it would be back up for us 1:30pm:confused: 4:30pm seems like a long time to have the store down...

What happens at these times if you walk into an apple store, do they still continue to sell customers the old stock?

It should be back up at around 13.30 UK time.
