An 8S would have had an a12 processor not an a13 processor. It's akin to saying the original SE was an iphone 5sss. But why don't you put aside your biases and at least understand this is Apples entry to a less expensive model, with some compromises. Current CPU with older tech. Not everybody will see this as you have pendantically stated in this thread.

Lol, the original 5S was a 5SS. And I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, its just Apple being lazy and seeing how much money they can squeeze out of the consumer by slightly rehashing older products.

I use a **** ton of Apple products but to me this phone is a garbage upgrade for anyone not using an iPhone 6 or lower and not much is going to change my opinion there.

Oh god please Apple has been wrong many many times. I'm not saying they are wrong here, but how'd they do with the $349 homepod for example? I'm not saying this phone won't sell, maybe it will. I just think its lazy on Apple's part and people should demand more from them. Do I think its going to sell crazy well? No, but I guess

Bolded: You’re being negative for the sake of being negative. You slandered this phone in anyway possible, even when four other members have contradicted/corrected you on your own errors in your posts, yet [According to you] this phone is a ‘cash grab’, ‘consumers should be more demanding’, ‘Apple is lazy’, etc. Nothing of what you said is a reality, again, you’ve taken something so simplistic and trying to over complicate it for the sake of being argumentative. Apple executed this phone exactly where they needed to, with the price point and form factor. I’m just repeating myself again, (because maybe it will actually resonate with You for a second time) to educate you where this phone stands for those who want an affordable entry level iPhone.

The original 5s, first 64 bit arm core in a mobile phone along with first 64 bit o/s in a mobile phone was a 5ss? Really?

This is not so much as changing your opinion, which has been stated multiple times, but *countering* your opinion. The fact that you use apple products does not necessarily mean your opinion is correct. (And to be fair that we use apple products doesn't mean my opinion is right) But in this regard, Apple seems to do their homework and get it right more often than wrong.

I disagree.

Is there a difference between buying the unlocked version and the T-Mobile version if I pay it off in full?

The reason I ask is I may switch to another carrier later this year and I remember in the past how Apple made different phones per carrier.

I want to do TMobile because everything works when I turn it on...I just want the option to switch to another carrier later if we leave.

“Laziness??”
The original SE, hailed fondly by many, used the former form factor. However it, like the current iteration, built upon established engineering (albeit with modifications), supplied components, and existing manufacturing lines to essentially provide a more affordable, better value phone.

It is not “laziness” for Apple to bring out a great product at a more affordable price point, a sector they were not competing in. The serendipitous timing with the economic downturn, Apple being the phone of choice of teens in the US, and more competitive pricing in emerging markets mean this thing will likely sell like hot cakes.

This will be a gateway Apple product for many. The secondary gain will be from purchased services. When the economy recovers, new converts may be tempted, and able, to buy the latest, inflated flagships.

Not for me, thank you.
I find it amazing that somehow there is a lot of buzz, even for underwhelming products like this one.

This is exactly what I was waiting for. I get a new phone by my companies carrier every other year and I can choose anything up to 500 Euros and pay the rest if its more. Eligible for a new phone august. I was hoping for something under 700 Euros with Touch ID and the same size as my current iPhone 7 as it just fits my work clothes and with a more powerful CPU and a better wifi and camera. And what can I say? Wohoo!

Why are you even on this site if you hate Apple so much?
