Thanks for the update. Unfortunately these stories make a big splash then generally disappear from view. Last I read he was released on bail just in time for the holidays.
he was supposed to be back in court dec 21. I am not sure that happened

I've been looking for good food in that area, watch Christo's end up becoming my new favorite place.
What type of food u looking for? My favs were ice cream - peaceful meadows (black raspberry), pizza, lynwood (randolph/cash only), Zacks (randolph center), cape cod pizza (brockton is decent), town spa (stoughton/ cash only), La Scala (randolph - this seems to be a fav for the people that moved from there and visiting). There is a great breakfast place I was there about 2 years ago, on 139, if coming from holbrook cross 53 heading toward rockland and just before the tracks on the left. for subs richardis in braintree on 37 in the vicinity of chin's chinese and a dunks. Also double Gs on Grove st. , if in Cambridge Ma Magoos (great tenders and their house honey mustard is great) Big Daddys (cambridge by harvard incredible crab rangoons). Christo's great greek salads but pizza is ehh. Not sure how long you been in the area, Christo's was a full rest in Brockton. Once the dad died the kids sold the property to massasoit comm college. Sad day for many generations.

Zacks in Randolph, it was our hang out in the 80's. Chucky (my age) was giving the shop. I was there in Sept, I walked in and it has not changed. I was skeptical about ordering because I didn't recognize anyone. I asked if Chucky was there and this young girl said no. She picked up on my apprehension. She said 'it's still the same nothing has changed. I'm chucky's daughter." I said thanks for making me feel old. She replied, well my dad is old too.

I don't know why this wasn't implemented from Day 1

The store reopened Wednesday for the first time since the Nov. 21 incident, when Kevin Bradley, 65, of New Jersey, was killed and 20 other people were injured. There is now a row of about two dozen steel barriers to protect the front of the store.

Because no one wants to pay until it's too late. You can have dangerous intersections for years. It takes someone influential or someone close to them getting hurt or worse, and then BAM stop signs/lights suddenly appear

Bradley Rein has been indicted for murder. Wow! Didn't see that coming.

Bradley Rein, 53, was indicted by a grand jury on Tuesday on charges of second-degree murder, motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation and 22 counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the Nov. 21 crash at a shopping center, Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz’s office said in a statement.

Unless they have some compelling evidence this was intentional this looks like an overreach by the DA. I'm in no way saying the guy is innocent, but unless the murder 2 charge is there simply to force a plea deal, then manslaughter is probably the most likely realistic charge given the publicly available evidence. Again, there may be more to this so I won't rule anything out. Especially given a grand Jury returned an indictment on it.

Given that DAs and grand juries seem to generally be pretty lenient when it's "just an accident" regarding motor vehicle deaths, I have to assume there are some serious aggravating circumstances to warrant both the murder charge and the stack of other charges.

Totally agree. I looked up Massachusetts law and I can't see how this incident fits into the statute. There has been no indication since the crash that Rein intentionally tried to kill anyone. If the DA is simply trying to wring out a plea from him, the judge should do their job and nix this overcharge.

Second-Degree Murder in Massachusetts

In the Commonwealth, a person commits second-degree murder when he or she intentionally kills another person, but does so without any premeditation. The killing must be done with with malice aforethought.

These sorts of killings occur in the heat of the moment, but do not involve any premeditation on the part of the perpetrator. At the moment the murder occurs, the killer definitely intends to kill the victim, but up to that moment, the killer had no intent or plan to commit murder.

Camera footage and first hand accounts by witnesses, speed estimates of 62mph and no evidence he made any attempt to avoid the incident made the DA's case easy
