I see more SB than any other color. That color is going to get played out quickly.
That's what I am noticing as well. It appears Apple is focusing on SB first over some other colors. I do see Graphite as well. Barely seen Silver in stock.

I hardly see silver at all. The order I see them is Sierra Blue, Graphite, Gold and then Silver.

It's likely someone cancelled the order because they likely found something else. Since it wasn't picked up by customer, Apple can put this back in stock availability for pick up. Now picking up a new device and returning it back unopened is different as they will mark it as "Open" on their system. I once returned an unopened 12 Pro at the Apple store and when I saw them process it, they had to process it as opened item instead of closed.

Thanks! That's good to know, especially since I don't want to open the box when I pick it up tomorrow. (because this iPhone 13 Pro max will be a gift to someone)

I’m seeing a lot of silver 13 Pro (not Max) at stores today as I check. This makes me somewhat hopeful that there are shipments of silver phones trickling in and hopefully in the next 24 hours there may be some silver PM available.

I keep forgetting that Apple Store is not Best Buy... they won't repack a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra back in its box and sell it as new and then lie about it.

in the DC area(iincluding MD and VA), I saw quite a few Pro and Pro Max in blue and gold last night.. they went away really quickly... as in 3:00AM... there must be people like me who don't sleep and keep checking Apple website these days? :( (fortunately, I lucked out last night and got the Pro Max that I wanted for pick-up tomorrow!) :)

I'm wondering where these random Apple Stores are getting 1 or 2 of these Pro and Pro Max phones. Did someone cancel their pick-up order? They won't put returned(but sealed) iPhone boxes back into inventory, right?(which makes me nervous because I saw someone on YouTube opening and sealing the box back perfectly using a heat gun, due to Apple switching to no plastic wrap)
I don’t think they can sell returned items. I returned a phone to apple one time during a launch and people were asking to buy my return and they wouldn’t let them.

Is there a website to track this? Ordered a 128GB Pro yesterday, Nov 8th-15th delivery which is absurd. Probably wont wait that long, if I can't find one in store I'll just cancel and wait for the 14.

You just have to check the Apple Store App or Apple Website once in a while to see if one of your nearest stores got some in and buy for pick-up.

the following is ranting from a disappointed bitter old geezer (yes, me)... :(

the Apple Store store called and said it would not be possible to let me pick up the phone tomorrow because the box was damaged. I can't tell if she was lying or not because wouldn't they have checked and scanned the box before moving it into the "ready for pick-up" status at the store? then again, things happen, they can't really give me what they don't have, right? :(

she said that they did have a iPhone Pro Max blue 1TB in stock. As a "goodwill gesture", she would take off $100.... (this was after I told her that I was planning to drive 340 miles to get to the store) I declined because that would still be $400 more than the 128gb version I ordered.

oh well.. better than showing up at the store after driving 340 miles and finding out that the box was damaged. I wouldn't have minded the damaged box usually, but this was a gift for someone...

The lady on the phone said that i should see the account balance credited "almost immediately" but that was 2 hours ago. :( Lesson learned... if someone said "almost immediately" about anything, I should have insisted that she stayed on the phone while this refund showed up "almost immediately"....

I wish I had asked her name because I called the store to ask but nobody knew.(went through a phone maze before finally got connected to a live person inside the store) They told me to check the Apple website and contact them... right now, it does say ordered cancelled and a refund was being issued..... <sigh> I knew I should not have been so optimistic this morning. :(

oh well... I just placed another order using my Apple Card... if the Apple ACcount Balance gets credited tomorrow, I'll just use it to pre-order the Apple Watch.

Has anyone ordered for home delivery and then found one to buy in the store? Wondering if you can cancel the delivery order.

@gdjsnyder

Finally some 13 Pro Max 1TB silver showed up at the Apple Store in SFO and I was able to order two.

I hope you will get yours soon!
This gives me hope! I’ve been checking my stores like crazy the past few hours just hoping. I’m thinking if SFO got then this afternoon, the stores around me should be tonight or tomorrow at latest.

Thanks!

I ordered at around 3:00AM, so I guess it took longer.... but the ready for pick-up email finally arrived at 8:10AM.

I'm still debating whether or not it's too crazy to drive 340 miles tomorrow just to get a phone.... or perhaps I'll just wait for them to ship it to me... on or after November 8. :)
I have no Apple stores close to me. I drove an hour and a half to pick it up. I am on the iPhone upgrade program and I decided not to pre order this year. I had regrets the next day, I knew I couldn’t help myself, I should have just pre ordered. I didn’t mind the drive last night. The only part that sucked was waiting for the phone to do an iOS update before I could update from my backup. The genius used a computer to do the software update, that was a mistake, it took about 40 minutes, the over the air update was 20 seconds away from being completely downloaded when he said it will be much quicker to do the update or on the computer, it will be much less restarting of the phone. That was definitely a mistake. Either way it’s done, good luck!

If you are relatively close to an Apple store, check the delivery options. I have seen a few Pro Maxes become available for in store pickup and go very quickly, but a few still have the option to have courier service deliver tomorrow (despite no stock appearing there). Not sure if I trust it but we will see between 10am and 12pm tomorrow. I am in NYC and the Upper West Side store is 10 blocks away. Not sure if they are saving some units for walk ins tomorrow but available for courier delivery online now. Anyone see this?

Thanks. How would I trade in my 12 though? I can't do it in the Apple Store if I found a 13 right?

If you’re reserving a 13 for pickup at an Apple Store just do the trade-in right there.
I ordered one for home delivery but if I find one at a store before that, Im going to cancel. So I can trade in my 12 at the Apple store when I buy my 13 if I find one?

Agh… I didn’t preorder either because I didn’t want to do the extra payment on the upgrade program. Now I’m realizing an in-store purchase won’t afford me the opportunity to do the device to device transfer (which is nice because it transfers media — movies and music— in addition to the rest of my data). Sigh. Such a hassle re-downloading music and movies.

I could have done the phone to phone transfer and I did asked about it, my Apple Store genius was definitely less than a genius. You can take as much time there as you need. I was not happy with my in store experience at all. If I didn’t have an hour and a half drive and needed GPS to get home, I would have left the new phone in box and just set it up at home. I’ve learned my pre order lesson. Lol
