Are the phones locked or unlocked? I need an unlocked phone.
Locked but if you pay off the installation payments (can’t buy outright there) the Carrie can unlock within 5 minutes. I’ll pay mine off next month and unlock.

Correct but for Verizon it auto unlocks after 60 days of purchase. Last year I got mine through Best Buy and after 60 days it just unlocked. I didn't request to do anything. I believe for the first few month they only sell carrier models but down the road they do in fact can sell outright if they wanted to.

Ah, that’s a good feature! AT&T should copy that - it’d save them time.

Is 8 pm the time that one should check for store availability?
As far as I know shoot for 8 pm. Can say this for certain. Once you key in your zip code keep refreshing until the model you’re looking for pops up. Do make sure that your shipping, billing and card information are correctly punched in. When the model you’re looking for shows up, all depends on you’re dexterity next. All the very best

Saw my target phone (128GB Graphite Pro) pop up available in Boston area twice today after never showing up yesterday. Today it was once during church when I had notifications muted, and again around lunchtime. The second one was there and gone in less than a minute, I didn't get it :-(
And then shortly after I posted this, the python script alerted me again to another store that had stock, and I successfully grabbed it. As suggested by other posters, I had already put the phone (with carrier, payment options and trade-in plans already selected) into my Apple Store bag on the iOS app, so I started with the "check out" button and fairly quickly proceeded through the rest of the purchase.

I was able to add a family member as authorized to pick up during the checkout, but it seems I could have done that post-purchase and saved myself a few seconds.

I'm not able to setup the python script to check on store stock. Anyone have a link to a detailed how to?

I was able to order an iPhone 13 Pro Max 256gb Sierra Blue with next day delivery with setup. Anyone used this shipping method before? It was the only quick option, no local courier. I'm in San Leandro CA.

It’s possible that your delivery address is too far from a metro area. I’ve had this happen to me
It happened to me a few times with in-store pick up as well not just for delivery. For me this happened with 12 pro maxes as they limited 6 and if it's more than 6 then they just cancel the rest and usually you get an e-mail stating that your order is cancelled as you have reached the qty limit.

6 purchased at one time or 6 in total?

I think within a certain period. It wasn't all 6 at one time, it was 6 and one month later it reset. so I would think within the time frame.
Interesting...I didn't realize they did that. Is it per store or per account do you know? I know there was a limit enforced last year due to the pandemic but has since been lifted.

I think it's per Apple ID but I'm not sure what algorithm they use because even if you used a different Apple ID it won't work, I"m thinking they are pulling from phone numbers and billing address and including the name. But I know they limit regardless of pandemic or not.

They did this for the previous models like 7,8,X XS,11, 12 and now 13. I think they just want fairness, but once the demand goes down then they lift. I remember last year it wasn't until March where you had no issues ordering more than 6.

Gotcha...makes sense but sales are sales regardless of who is buying it. I guess I will see later on today what limit is in place : )

it's not just $1000+ iPhones.

In the last week and half, I've experience shortages on bottled water, paper towels, canned beans, frozen unprepared calamari rings, marinara sauces, and even pet food. There is definitely something weird going on. Even during the height of the pandemic last year, the shortages weren't this bad.... :(

Isn’t/wasn’t there a bunch of cargo ships stuck in the ocean or something? That may be why.

lol depending on how many you got so far. But this shouldn't matter for buying in-person. More so for online orders.

Is this your first time ordering the 13?
Nope, 4th cancelled ordered. Called customer service they said they were unable to verify my payment option. Card and shipping names and address are the same, bank has no issues so they said.

4th?! Something is going on there. No Fraud alerts or multiple charges showing on your CC.

Interesting, didn't know there was a limit. I'm just ordering one so not my case.
