So it seems to be the REALLY early orders are the ones with the problem... #

Again, not sure if this is a problem, yet. Per Matthewv1227 in the other/main thread: "Yes, and it just showed up on the my support profile page today too. I think that once that shows up, you have a definite phone assigned to you, so it is then prepared to ship and you should be able to find a tracking number soon." <-- That makes a lot of sense to me.

But I don't think he has the same issue the majority of us do. Our phones are stuck in processing, and we don't have anything on our support profiles yet.

Got email confirmation right away for delivery 9/19

As of right now, it's still processing and I don't see any charges yet.

Apple lol. If our phones were in preparing for shipment, then there wouldn't really be a problem here.

So it's possible that our phones are already in the US and aren't coming from China, hence the delay. If they were coming from China, I would think they would have already been in the "preparing for shipment" phase.

Mine also says: Preparing for Shipment Delivers: 9/19 by Standard Shipping

It was ordered at 3:24am est. 64gb, space gray, delivered to home.

I ordred a non-plus that is shipping to store that still just says processing ordered 2 min. earlier.

Both ordered from the iPad app.
When did your status change to preparing for shipment? And you ordered a 6 Plus, correct? a GSM model?

Remembering from previous years, the device won't show up in the support profile until it's actually assigned to you (obviously...). So:

The phones on their way from China are assigned at the time they're shipped so they can be routed to the right place stateside. The phones that are already here (presumably ours) are not going to be assigned until they're ready to ship (which again, explains why it hasn't happened yet).

They're all hanging out in a warehouse somewhere, waiting to be divvied up. We'll get updates/tracking/etc. whenever they decide to do that.

I'd also wager that unlike the China direct folks that are getting UPS, ours will arrive via FedEx (exciting for me because FedEx runs earlier to my office!).

I'm getting more and more convinced our phones are already here :D

That is EXACTLY what I'm thinking! If anyone else is going through this issue, then please do share the time you ordered, and if it's a GSM AT&T model!

I'm glad I'm getting down to the bottom of this, it gives me peace of mind!

I wanna know why rollerbones' phone is preparing for shipment already since he made his order the same time as us, not hatin by the way! I'm happy for them! I just wonder if he ordered any cases or whatnot on the same order that would possibly have made it ship from China.

In your support profile on Apple's website, if you login, you'll see all the devices you added to your account's support section, this includes the device's respective serial number. They're essentially the ones you registered. Devices ordered directly from Apple are added automatically however. Since their model is preparing for shipment, that's why it got added. They have a specific phone assigned to them already.

You should check yours and see if it added your serial number yet, and if it's not there now, it might be there by the end of the night!

What about VZW orders like mine 2 i6+ space gray 16gbs. Are our phones truly backordered and Apple orders have the preference.

I ordered at 12:15 am.
 
Still processing here. It'll probably flip sometime today from the sounds of it. If not, I'd still bet on it being somewhere in the states already.

Nothing on support profile either.

. I was on hold for almost 3 hours the next day to change my shipping address. She commented multiple times about how I was one of the lucky ones who would be getting the 6+ at that memory on release day. She said they didn't have many. I'm still stuck in the processing stage as well. Same thing happened with my 5 though. I didn't get it put on my support page until a day or so before it was delivered.

I ordered 64 GB Space Grey 6+ (Carrier: AT&T, just a 2 yr renewal) at 2:57am CST (which was as soon as I could get in they Apple app). In ordering process it said 9/19 for deliver date, then I got bumped back to 10/1-10/6 delivery when I finally got thru. Currently hanging out in processing status. *sigh*

I ordered my 6Plus through the Apple Store app at approximately 3:39am EST. I am an AT&T customer.

Mine changed to Preparing for Shipment this past Friday evening and has been there since.

I am not worried about not getting my phone on Friday.

If it doesn't get here until after Friday I will continue sleeping well and enjoying life.
