Verizon, that's why! So you don't really fit the criteria since this applies to AT&T phones, and it makes sense as to why yours is preparing to shipment, and most people in this thread aren't!

Okay, I've been more than a little obsessive tracking this whole process, and though I have been a MR reader since 2007, here goes my first post (not that that bit of info is relevant, it's just nice to be here):
Ordered a iPhone 6 64GB Space Gray (A&TT) through the Apple store at 6:30 am MST estimated delivery 9/19
It was processing until 5 minutes ago, when it finally changed to preparing to ship.
Earlier today my CC was charged the full amount of purchase (interestingly there is still a $4.12 pending charge from apple that is not the Leather case i purchased in a separate order)
I know you guys were looking for 6s preorders, but I just wanted to give a little more info since we are all dealing with such a similar problem.

In Canada you can only buy unlocked so it there's no affiliation with any carrier. Yes I have a 9/19 delivery date. It's GSM if it makes a differences haha

AT&T iPhone 6 64gb Space Gray ordered on Apple's website at 1:38PM MDT on Friday says preparing for shipment as of 12:50PM MDT today. No serial number in my support profile, no tracking via reference number, nothing. It's being shipped to 80222 (Denver)
I was going to order earlier than that but when I couldn't get through on the app until 3am MDT, I gave up and went to sleep.

The pleasure is really mine! I wanted to get to the bottom of this, and I'm glad that we could all come together to share our information and bring some form of conclusion as to why our orders were delayed! And now we can rejoice since they're moving into the Preparing for Shipment phase!!!

Looks like I just switched over to "Preparing for Shipment" - they must be moving through them all now.
I think I can add to this too. I ordered my AT&T 64 GB space gray iPhone Plus on the apple app at exactly 3:30 AM on 9/12. It's been stuck in processing until today. I just found this thread and as I was going to check the details of when I ordered it finally updated and said that my phone was preparing for shipment. Yay!!

Anyone have issue signing up for myUPS? I keep getting an error that my user name or nickname and address are already in use. Signed into my old account and found an old address but can't update to new one. Guess I'll have to wait for Apple's tracking number.
Storm coming my way in a few days and judging by how bad we've been flooding. I'm nervous lol.

Now we get to see how long until we find our tracking info & Serial #s. Then we'll celebrate together on Friday!!!!
I've been waiting 2 years for an iPhone this size!!!
I'm in the recently moved to shipment for that model, but I also have that exact model I placed at 12:40am PST that has been in shipment since saturday night.
Went preparing for shipment... checked at 5:15MST which is 7:15EST.
