how did you check your reservation? i dont have an iPhone but ill d/l this app for my itouch and use wifi to use it if it allows you to check the status of a reservation.
I did learn one lesson from all this - in the future, I will pre-order.
I thought the same thing, only the pre-order was a joke. I tried to pre-order about 30 minutes into the pre-order and the website was already bogged down to nothing. Couldn't pre-order, and I wasn't going to waste my time checking every 5 minutes to do it.
Woohoo! Got email this morning, 6 days after I got on the list.
I was put in the list at this same store at noon on Friday, so it existed some time before Friday night. However, they did tell me that they "just started it" and he had to get the manager to enter our names because nobody seemed to know how to use the system.I got on the list around 10:30AM on Saturday at South Coast Plaza Apple store. I asked if I can see what # I am on the list. He looked on his reservation iPad and says there's really no numbering and that the database simply shows reservation for any products, not just iPhones. He says the iPhone priority list only started the night before and he's seeing a lot of iPad reservations, so he thinks I should be pretty high up the list.
Here's hope they get a shipment this week so I can get my 32GB iPhone 4.![]()

Anyhow, still no email for pickup.

They did say they got a new shipment, so hopefully, you're on deck.I just came from the store. They don't have any for walk ins, but the girl I asked was uncertain and she had to turn to a co-worker to confirm -- as if they've always had allotments for walk ins along side the priority list.
If you got yours, already... hopefully I'm in the next batch. I still haven't received my "your iphone is waiting" email yet. I got the initial "We'll talk to you soon" email when I first got placed on the list though.
btw, thanks for the update. helps me keep a sense of my place in queue and timing--ease the wait.

However, there didn't seem to be a whole bunch of folks in there picking up their phones. Maybe they're piecemealing them out to prevent overwhelming the staff.
I got on the list at the ABQ Uptown Apple Store at about 2:30 on launch day (about five people after they ran out of units), and still don't have an email. Very surprised it has taken this long![]()
how does one get on a list? is there a website? or is it done in store?
This is encouraging news. I signed up at the Pasadena Apple store on Saturday afternoon, but picked the Santa Monica store for pick up. I haven't gotten the 'pick up' email yet. I sure hope it's only taking 5-6 days for priority list pick ups. Also signed up for another list at another store on Saturday and got the email today. Dunno if it'll work but if they let me give my reservation to someone i'll be glad to.. It ready to be picked up at Century City, CA.
Signed up for one at one of the apple stores around me on Friday. Got the "Your iphone is ready to be picked up" email yesterday. And picked it up today.
