This is so subjective...I had a Compaq that was great for nearly a decade and would still be alive if I felt the HD and display were worth replacing...if the specs weren't so outdated I would probably have fixed it. Most people say Compaq is crap but my experience was good with 3 of them over the years. My first two Apple products have issues so in my experiences Compaq is better than Apple. See how that goes?

It's all in the luck of your experience.

It's Dell not Compaq. And for the record. 2 of my friends bought a Dell (each on their own) a year ago. A month ago, almost in unison, both of them FAILed, and miserably. One of them had the LCD go dead, the other had an overheating of the motherboard. Failures on computers not even a year old fail. Luckily one of them won a small lotto ticket ($1500) and he has expressed his wished in switching to Mac seeing that I have had a good experience with them.

Not a year old computer and now dead. Now that's bad quality. My MacBook, it is already a little over a year and not one problem whatsoever.

What does that mean? Mine was Compaq...and I know people who swear by Dell as well. It totally depends on your experience and those in your immediate circle. Apple is in my opinion now having used both better WHEN it works...but they have just as many QC and failure issues in MY experience and circle as any other brand.

Ford....Chevy....whatever. It's all about personal experience.

I agree that it all depends on ur luck, you can have a lemon with any computer. But cheap pcs are lemons more often.

Based on your experience and those of people you know. You simply cannot say as a fact overall Apples are lemons or break less.
