That $20 went to UPS or FedEx. Where are you located? Are you in a big city or a rural area? I selected the free delivery option and will get mine on Monday.

A company doesn't nickel-and-dime its way to a $200 billion cash pile. If that were the case, the airlines would be the most valuable companies in the world.
Agreed, that upcharge is UPS and once it is handed off it is UPS's responsibility to get the product to you. My order shows Monday delivery as well but I didn't pay extra for shipping. I ordered 1st thing Monday also.

My Apple order from Monday morning is still PFS. I ordered one from Best Buy with in-store pickup, will go pick it up now and return my preorder.

Apple completely botches another product launch. They really need to fix this after the Watch and ATV4 issues.
The Apple Watch is doing fine for their margins. In that way, it is a success.

Problem is the app market for the watch is flat. There has yet to be one killer app that really shines.

Just got home from getting mine from Best Buy. Make sure to ask a manager because no one else knew they had them available. I had a movers coupon to use since we just moved!
Thats nice to know. I just drove an hour to the closest apple store to get mine. When I called Best Buy, they said they weren't out yet. I told them I would have to try the Apple store and they hung up on me. I tried to buy from them, too bad they don't know what they sell.

So, has anyone found one in a Best Buy?

You guys with Apple stores nearby are lucky, closest one to me would be a 3 hour round trip. We do have a SimplyMac store. I called earlier and they are clueless about the new Apple TV.

If Best Buys in major cities don't even have stock then I doubt ours in little ole Montgomery has any.

Simply Mac? Oh, brother. After multiple visits I've decided they have the worst customer service of any technology retailer I've ever experienced (at least the location in my town.) I refer to them as "Simply Mac. There's nothing we can do." I wouldn't give them a penny...and I buy a lot of Apple crap.

Most best buy employees dont know much about tech, I had issues with them many times.

Not to know about tech is one thing, but for a manager not to brief his employee's on what they have for sale is quite another.

Yet my preorder from Monday has yet to show any movement

I'm in Anchorage, Alaska. I went in the nearest Best Buy at 10 when they opened. They had no units in stock and tried to sell me the old model, seemed mystified there was a new one coming. I then drove downtown to the Apple store where they had at least 30 in stock. I bought one and left, it's in the front seat of my car. I'll hook it up tonight.

Went to Best Buy, waited over a half hour for someone to help me in the apple area. No helpers, No luck. There were 4 samsung "people" in the samsung section.

I purchased 2 apple tv's on Tuesday 28, a 32GB and a 64GB. Both were going to be pick ups at 2 different locations on Wed 4th. Then they start showing in my account as getting ready for pick up today in the morning.
I then get a text and an email this morning that the 64GB is out of stock and that I had to call them.
So I just got off the phone and basically they have no f***ing clue either. They tell me the 32GB is ready to be pick up but I have to call the store and ask when will they have the 64GB box ready. They said that the store doesn't have it ready to release it.

So I can't get a hold of any representatives from Best Buy, I waited for about 30 minutes then hang up.
I looked in the best buy app and it tells me that almost all stores around me have them.
I tried using the chat system on best buy website and they tell me that they only see 3 stores carrying the new apple tv. They have no clue why the app says something else.
Im got upset and told the rep to call the store for me to find out whos right.
Im waiting to hear back..........

Its a no go with best buy.
So best buy app is all mess up. It says my local store has it but when we call them, they don't have. They said they will have it ready to pick up until Nov. 10th.
Im very upset with them.

BestBuy.com showed all stores around me had both models in stock as well. Did not bother with pre-order. Stopped at the one I drive near on my way home. Walked back to the Apple section. They had them stocked in 2 places. On the shelf with all the other Apple products that are not locked in the cage, keyboards and mice, Chargers, etc. And on the wall display where they had a TV with a working demo unit of the new ATV4.

I grabbed the first 64 GB version I came too, which was on the shelf. Wanted to make sure I had one in my hand in case the place was suddenly swarmed with other MacRumors Apple Zealots coming to get their new toys after work like I was doing.

They had more 64 GB on display than the 32 GB. Did not count the boxes, but guesstimate from shelf density they had about 8 more 64 GB left, and about 4 of the 32 GB.

After I had my box chosen I wondered around the area. Picked up a 2nd charger for my Apple watch. Headed over towards the TV. A group of women were standing in front of the TV playing with the Siri Remote. Waited For them to walk away. Then made my way over to do a quick test drive before heading to the checkout line with my packages.

I would say I was out in about 15 minutes.

I had no problems finding any at my Best Buy, but they seemed to have more 32 than 64 unless they were mixed in. Shouldn't have any problems finding them in the Apple section or by the TVs with the other streaming boxes.

Yet, my Apple order from Monday morning is still PFS.

Anyone having issues with Netflix sound quality (static)? I changed the sound setting to 16bit and moved the Apple TV away from the tv (4K sony xbr) and it seems to have fixed the issue but wondering if anyone also has encountered this issue.

Best buy didn't have any in stock in west Hollywood after I was on hold for 5 mins. I ended up at the Apple store at the grove. The employee said a lot of people were purchasing it. I'm just kinda bummed that ultraviolet / vudu isn't available on the Apple TV yet. :(

No

Thank you for your reply! We have a second ATV3 with wifi connectivity issues (Apple has a program for this but neither the one we already sold nor this one qualify) which is driving us crazy. We have LED's backlighting our TV's and this seems to aggrivate the wifi connectivity issues. In hind sight when I ripped open our walls to install outlets and cable boxes I should have run Ethernet cables, ARGH!

We won't be home much this weekend so hopefully B&H will have a better idea Monday. Will you please let me know if you hear from them?

I canceled my B&H order.

Thanks to Macrumors, I heard about Best Buy pre-order a couple of days ago. This afternoon, I got the email from BB saying that the item was ready for pickup. I walked in just before closing, and picked it up with no hassle. I had a store credit to use up, so I got it for no cash outlay. Thanks, Macrumors!

My wife preordered me the new Apple TV for my birthday. I got an email from Best Buy saying it was ready to be picked up. Drove 30 minutes to Best Buy. "We're sorry, our store didn't receive any Apple TVs from Apple/Shipper... You must have got an order confirmation." I pulled out my iPhone and showed him my email "ready for pickup" confirmation. "We can send you to another store that has it. It's 60 miles from here." How about offer free next day shipping? I am greatly disappointed in Best Buy. Birthday excitement ruined.

For the people having issues. Here is what I know. There was a shipping issue for units arriving at Best Buy which is why inventory was showing units in stock and available for pickup when they were not.

My store actually ended up getting about 130 units via UPS at around 11am, so soon after opening. So if you guys were early, before UPS showed up, that is why you were told they were not in stock. And there was no real way for us to actually see when they were coming in since it was a UPS drop shipment directly from Apple, not a Best Buy DC.
