If you ordered on the first day of pre-order it said Friday would be the delivery day with one-day shipping. That made it very clear that Friday would be release day.

Wrong... this is exactly what they listed for Next Day Delivery service for those who ordered on Monday

Available to ship: 3-5 business days
Delivers: Oct 30 - Nov 3 by Next Day Shipping

"Delivers: Oct 30 - Nov 3 by Next Day Shipping". There was never a guarantee of delivery on Oct 30th. Just like Oct 30th was never officially mentioned for in store availability. There was also not an option for in-store pickup until today.

Well, I went to 3 Best Buys near me this morning and actually their stories were very similar.

None of them (around here) have any in stock, the most I got was that there was a shipping mess up and that they were supposed to have been there early this morning to stock but for whatever reason they didn't show.

I then just got back in the car and drove to my closest Apple Store.

My local store in Ft Worth doesn't have any 64GB in stock but have quite a few 32's. I grabbed 2 and checked out.

One other thing, if Amazon doesn't release a native tvOS app in 3 months I'll cancel my Prime. If they think I'd pick them over Apple they are sorely mistaken.

I was thinking about this last night. I hardly ever use Prime Video because it's not on the Atv. But I live in Hawaii and think I save enough with free shipping that I gonna keep my Prime.

Same story over here in Dallas, so I just picked up a 32GB at the NorthPark Apple Store while I was out on my lunch break.

Really digging the new ATV. I had given my two ATV's away to family and a friend, so it's been awhile since I have used one. This one is so much more better.
I love how you can run Safari on your iPhone or iPad and everything (videos, etc..) mirrors beautifully on the TV.
Oh, and Siri is really good so far.
And cannot forget the volume control is also a great add.

Who said anything about the Apple TV being in demand like the iPhone or iPad? No one.

The issue at hand is Apple causing a lot of confusion with this launch and, yes, it is upsetting some people. Maybe not you, but it is bothering others. And yes, there are people who order first thing on Monday and their orders haven't shipped yet or wont be delivered until Monday because, again, the delivery window was Oct 30th - Nov 3rd.

Not crying about it. Just putting someone who didn't even order one on Monday in His place. Get your facts straight.

**EDIT** well it looks like OldSchoolMacGuy's comment I was quoting was removed which makes my comment seem out of context now. I'm sure you all can imagine what he would have written and why I responded like I did.

So, has anyone found one in a Best Buy?

You guys with Apple stores nearby are lucky, closest one to me would be a 3 hour round trip. We do have a SimplyMac store. I called earlier and they are clueless about the new Apple TV.

If Best Buys in major cities don't even have stock then I doubt ours in little ole Montgomery has any.

I called my local Best Buy and said they never had any in. They also seemed pretty clueless about new Apple TV being released today. My Apple order still PFS.

This doesn't surprise me. I've been hawking the BB site since this morning and all it says for both ATV4 models is "coming soon." If I really wanted one, I could drive to the the Apple Store in DE to buy it. But I'll hold tight on the order I placed on B&H. My ATV3 will tide me over until 11/10.

Myself and a coworker went over to the Apple Store during lunch to buy them. Now can't wait to get home to set it up. I would have ordered online but wanted to get the Discover 10% Cashback bones with Apple Pay.

I picked one up from Best Buy about an hour ago. I didn't want to wait for B&H to get them in stock. At first all the employees told me they didn't have any. I told them to check RSS (BB Inventory system) and guess what? They had (6) 64 GBs in stock. Asked them to get me one out of the back. Paid for it and walked out.

Yeah, my Apple TV will be fine but I really want to play with new one this weekend. Its going to rain here in Oregon (shocker) and be good weekend to be lazy and play with it.

Best Buy in Lexington, KY had 4 of each sitting on the check out station back by the TVs.

All I can say is that I am ECSTATIC that I pre-ordered on this last Monday, paid a $20 premium for NEXT DAY DELIVERY, to get a "shipped" notification on Thursday night, to now find out it will be delivered this next Monday (three days from today)

It is cr@p like this that annoys me with one of the worlds most successful, wealthy, innovative corporations. I feel like they cheated me out of $20. That gargantuan pile of cash Apple is sitting on is partly because of business practices like this.

Just got back from my local Best Buy store in Chattanooga. They had just gotten in a few 32s and 64s. I quickly purchased a 32 and am back home now setting it up. Haven't decided yet if I'm going to keep the one coming Monday from Apple.

None in Rochester, NY at least that they let me believe. I am gonna try after work.

Edit***

Apparently they do, just checked and I have ordered for pickup.

Pre-ordered a 64 last week. That one is still en-route.

Also happened to be at Best Buy, during lunch, when another customer inquired. Manager said "let me check", went to the back, and came out with two unopened boxes full of them. The other guy got one, as did I. We were the first to ask about it, and the was at least two hours after they opened. This was in Central TX.

Wanted two, anyhow. Just not sure I should have gone 64G for both? now worries, I'll migrate those to various bedrooms, once we upgrade to 4k.

The app store isn't going to be on ATV3?

No

I ordered from B&H as well and my order status says "On Order". I contacted B&H support to get an update and was told they haven't even received their shipment of Apple TVs yet. They have 0 on hand. Just like every other MacRumors participant, I did not like that answer I received, so I opened up a chat session asking the same question. Same answer. Pretty disappointing that other retailers have them in stock but B&H doesn't.

Thank you for your reply! We have a second ATV3 with wifi connectivity issues (Apple has a program for this but neither the one we already sold nor this one qualify) which is driving us crazy. We have LED's backlighting our TV's and this seems to aggrivate the wifi connectivity issues. In hind sight when I ripped open our walls to install outlets and cable boxes I should have run Ethernet cables, ARGH!

We won't be home much this weekend so hopefully B&H will have a better idea Monday. Will you please let me know if you hear from them?

I purchased 2 apple tv's on Tuesday 28, a 32GB and a 64GB. Both were going to be pick ups at 2 different locations on Wed 4th. Then they start showing in my account as getting ready for pick up today in the morning.
I then get a text and an email this morning that the 64GB is out of stock and that I had to call them.
So I just got off the phone and basically they have no f***ing clue either. They tell me the 32GB is ready to be pick up but I have to call the store and ask when will they have the 64GB box ready. They said that the store doesn't have it ready to release it.

The shipping mess must be a UPS thing. I received an email at 4:20 am that my order was delayed due to an incorrectly sorted item at the sorting facility. So it's expected Monday. What a joke. All the local Best Buy stores didn't receive any times as well.

That $20 went to UPS or FedEx. Where are you located? Are you in a big city or a rural area? I selected the free delivery option and will get mine on Monday.

A company doesn't nickel-and-dime its way to a $200 billion cash pile. If that were the case, the airlines would be the most valuable companies in the world.

This is where I am more aggravated with Best Buy than anything.
I went to different stores and instead of simply saying "No we don't have any for sale yet" all 3 people made up some fake story about how they would not be getting in today and try next week, sorry, etc. I just can't believe the associate had any factual information at all and just told me a load of BS for no reason.

I'm only a little more upset because this isn't the first time Best Buy has done this where they gave me completely false information. When the Nest Camera came out "No we don't have any at all we checked" I went to a neighboring store and bought 1 during the whole transaction the guy I was talking to asked why I came to their store instead of the one closer to home. He called back to my regular store, talked to someone and they confirmed they had hands on 12 cameras. 15 minutes after I was told "I guess the shipment didn't come in"

Same thing a few years ago with a TV, wife had to go to the neighboring store, come to find out again our local store actually had it.

Stop guessing and do your job. Off soapbox o_O

13 BestBuys near me all show stocked.
