So glad I canceled my apple order and pre-ordered it from Best Buy. I got to use my 25.00 in Best Buy rewards points and 17.00 back for the faster shipping I paid for from Apple. Now I just hope I get a email that I can pick it up tomorrow
Spoiled "adults" will be inconvenienced by going to an Apple Store to purchase one tomorrow morning, then having to return the web ordered unit that gets delivered later that afternoon.
Not to be harsh, but an easy Google search (like I just did) would've retrieved the info you were looking for. Here's the direct link. http://www.apple.com/shop/help/returns_refundThis really sucks as to why they want us to pre order early and then bring it in store even before pre orders are full filled...
I used a gift card as well as my own credit card to make the pre order. Now planning to pick it up in store tomorrow. Also, my pre order status says - Preparing For Shipment. If I get the preordered Apple TV say next week, can I return it in store and get the money back on my gift card and credit card or every thing goes back to my credit card? Would help if someone can clarify!
That smell of all those eating in line.
After placing my order, I called Apple and they upgraded me to overnight shipping for free... though I would have liked to get my Best Buy reward points.
Anyways it's shipped![]()
mine as of this am was still in processing even though I ordered Monday am with overnight shipping . I went into 5th Ave Apple Store early this am and bought one off the shelf no line . they said they had a ton of them .Yet my preorder from Monday has yet to show any movement
My local store has them in stock so I called Apple to cancel. The lady on the phone said if they can't stop the shipment I can return it at the store. She made it sound like they didn't know the device would be in stores today so I'll bet I'm not the first person to call.Mine looks like it's no longer cancelable, so ... SOME movement? I still don't know if I'm getting this anytime between today and Monday...
Yeah, course you will. One other thing, if Amazon doesn't release a native tvOS app in 3 months I'll cancel my Prime. If they think I'd pick them over Apple they are sorely mistaken.
Apple completely botches another product launch. They really need to fix this after the Watch and ATV4 issues.
Many preorders promise to deliver at a certain date.
I think people are upset because they feel preordering gives them an advantage over people going to the store.
The average person had no clue they were going on preorder Monday whereas the Apple enthusiasts follow the news and know that Tim Cook said so in an interview. They stay up to midnight and bit frustrated not able to order. Then go to sleep and wake up early - can order after 6am! They feel happy and excited.
Days later they discover that they will be available in store to anyone on Friday before their expected delivery date. This is sorta insulting to them.
It was not known one could purchase an Apple TV in store on Friday back on Monday, but with other product launches it was made very clear prior to preordering when could get in store - iPhone could as always, and Apple Watch it was not. Therefore it was very easy to presume that those with preorders would get theirs before the stores in the case of Apple TV.
It doesn't bother me because I'm 500 miles from nearest Apple Store and only way to get early for me is preorder. I can see how it bothers others though. But I know for a fact that in a week nobody's going to care anymore. (Not nearly as intense as the Apple Watch preorder everyone waiting for 42mm SS black sports band tracking FedEx airplanes etc.)!
