Honestly so sick of the snarkiness of the comments on here. If Apple is so evil I wonder why these people are up on here everyday to spill their thoughts. Obsessed much?

Earth day, shmerz day.

Apple could hardly be less environmentally friendly if they tried. If they really cared about the environment, they would stop selling electronic goods completely. I don't see that happening, as they are too greedy for money.

It saddens me more than anything to see people who have been suckered into science which is at best a shot in the dark into what is really happening. The scientists are not 4.5 billion years old (the age of the earth) so everything that is coming out of their mouth is strictly theory. That's all I'm saying. If you believe them, that's fine but then you should also believe everything else they say. Otherwise your faith in our scientists is only a belief of convenience.

If you don't believe in science, how do you come up with the earth being 4.5 billion years old?.

Yeah, unfortunately Apple has been pushing their own agenda several times in the past.

The iPhone was released on June 29 (2007). Gary Busey's birthday - it appears that our Californian liberals are trying to promote his un-"god"ly lifestyle, drugs and alcohol abuse(y).

The first iPad was released on April 3 (2010), most likely to mock Pope Honorious IV, who passed away on April 3, 1287. Clearly another sign of Apple making fun of "Christians".
Also, as you've already pointed out, the communist agenda is being pushed by Apple here as well, as Stalin became the first General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union on April 3, 1922.

Unfortunately, the friends and fans of iGadgets won't see how the American way of life is being mocked by Apple and other regressive lefty companies.

WoW... Such conspiracy theory. Good job by connecting the dot. Really the shame that John Oliver did not motion your name.

Is it really that green to provide all your staff with green shirts just to wear on one day of the year?
But, but, but... The shirts are all green! :D

Read aloud the colors that you see! Try to ignore the words.

Can you cite a source for your "Fiery ball" theory, please?

The original poster also claims wine has not been grown in England in over 1000 years, which is not true since wine was grown up to WWI; and restarted in 1952.

I applaud Apple going green. But until they stop making and selling accessories made from Leather, they'll never truly be Green. Slaughterhouses are the antithesis of green. Come on apple. You can do better. You can lead the way.

In honor of Earth Day next Friday, April 22, Apple has updated the logos of over one hundred of its retail stores with green leaf accents in countries around the world, and provided retail employees with matching green t-shirts to wear. Apple is also promoting stores that run on 100% renewable energy with new signage.

Many customers have shared pictures of the green-leafed Apple logos on Instagram and Twitter at stores in the United States, Australia, Belgium, China, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Spain, United Kingdom, and other countries. Apple retail chief Angela Ahrendts also tweeted some photos of the new green t-shirts.
Apple Store logos are typically illuminated green on Earth Day itself, but Apple is kicking off its support one week earlier this year on the same day it switches from plastic bags to paper bags. Apple has advised staff members to ensure that supplies of any remaining plastic bags are depleted before switching to paper bags.

Apple has heavily emphasized its environmental responsibility over the past month. At its iPhone SE event last month, Apple environmental chief Lisa Jackson said the company's goal is to "become 100% renewable in 100% of our operations worldwide," including all of its corporate offices, retail stores, and data centers.

Yesterday, Apple launched an "Apps for Earth" promotion in support of the World Wildlife Fund and released its annual environmental responsibility progress report [PDF] covering the 2015 fiscal year. Notably, Apple's recycling initiatives have allowed it to recover over $50 million in gold, copper, and other metals.

Update: While some have suggested that the new seasonal green t-shirts may go against the idea of environmental friendliness, a retail employee informed us that Apple has supplied team members with multiple shirts that will be used for the "foreseeable future." The employee also said that Apple recycles t-shirts each time it changes colors, while some take their old t-shirts home for personal use.

Who said I didn't believe in science? Also, the 4.5 billion figure is just a another guess by science. Thought I would use it since everyone here seems to be stuck on scientists almost always being correct. What's really interesting is ask a Christian the age of the Earth. There answer is 10,000 years. Try to figure that one out.

Personally, I think Apple as well as other companies speak in fork tongue. They talk about reducing pollution and waste yet still make products that will end up in landfills for 5,000 years. Hypocrisy at its best. Apple is doing this just to make themselves feel better about the pollution they are causing. It's not hard to figure out.

Apple has missed a trick here.

They should have put those tshirts on sale, then sent to proceeds to charity.

I for one would have bought one, not necessarily primarily to save the planet, but more so be ashes it's an Apple tshirt, and that so cool!

Apple has 30,000 retail employees. Taking the WWF average of 40 gallons of water used for one load of laundry.. Apple has wasted nearly 1,200,000 gallons of water on a shirt. Not to mention the cotton fields that were ripped to shreds for them as well.. Oh and also the energy to pack and ship the shirts to the Apple store.

Being the Capitalist loving free market guy that I am, I give no f*cks. But, I am not the one pretending to be an environment loving tree hugger.

Newer washers use 15 - 25 gallons; but that's still a lot of water.
