There’s a tough balance with all of this. I, for one, don’t trust that people will honor the “honor system”, but I ethically have a problem with companies, organizations asking for proof of vaccination. No, this isn’t a discussion from my end regarding HIPAA, but if “privacy is a fundamental human right” (Craig F., WWDC 2021 keynote) I have a problem asking ppl if they’re vaccinated. This is a personal and private thing.
I understand Craig’s quote is with regard to the context of data privacy, but I tend to think this also carries over. So, if this remains a private matter and the honor system is a colossal failure, what’s the answer? How does one retain privacy being a human right and not cheating some sort of honor system?
