Is the flickering on the Gen 1 Studio Display still a thing under 26.3/26.4? I can't find any info one way or the other and have been waiting to rebuild my Mac Studio until there's some clarification. I guess I'll stick with Sequoia?

FYI. for XDR, best buy never had open box for 1st gen....now XDR has open boxes. Saw one that had a pretty good discount...was 2700 I believe. Just FYI.

So I have been using the new 2026 Studio Display for a full week, and it has been astounding, I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best setup I've had. Everything just works! But the monitor has good quality, you can see the colours look really nice when you turn it on, and even though I can totally appreciate that glossy would be better, I have not regretted getting the nano texture at all this week, I selected this option with my brain thinking how I would actually be using the monitor every day, and it was the right choice for me.

But it works with my Dell works laptop and my MacBook Pro brilliantly using the Cable Matters KVM, and my Logitech mouse and Nuphy keyboard also work flawlessly through the USB C ports on the monitor, I couldn't even get that to work properly on my Huawei or Ben Q monitors I've had!

It is one VERY solid reliable and performance monitor, the backlight despite being IPS screen is great, equal, and more than bright enough!

I would have loved the XDR, but it doesn't work with my works laptop, and I don't 'really' need HDR, don't need it for work lol. The clarity for my eyes with my work use has been superb on the Studio Display.

So I now get it when people state it is the 'best monitor they've owned', luckily I have got use to the 27" size too. VERY happy with it all.

I am now currently debating on getting a new Herman Miller chair as they have 25% off currently hmm...

Don't know how long it's been, two months maybe since I bought the ASD...

For the first 2-3 weeks I didn't find it as comfortable as my old 1440p Dell.

Now I love it. Using it daily without thinking about it, which is a good thing.

It. Just. Works.

The sound; brilliant. The video camera; brilliant. The mic; brilliant. The display and colours, all fantastic.

I do video calls daily, so this stuff is important to me, no other monitor comes close. Would highly recommend the ASD, can't believe I was reading comments about 60Hz not being good enough or that it's an old screen.

Ups I did it again…
…just ordered my 2nd refurbished Apple Studio Display Standard.
Design over price was the reason for the second workplace display after 2024. Actual an iMac 27“ 2012 there but this has reached it’s end.
The mac mini M4 16/2TB moves from the TV homeroom as it was not really used there to this workplace.
Did not want to spend another cheap plastic display with webcam and speakers and also high priced aluminum alternatives on Alibaba&Co did not really trigger me - so went for the second ASD Gen I. Do not need the new one, or higher priced ones.
