What Mac are you using? Did you get the "three dots" animation that indicates the display is booting up?Mine just showed up and it's plugged into power and my Mac via USB-C and it's a black screen. Anybody having issues?

Same setup but I don't hear them and I'm super sensitive to that...have a 2012 iMac and dealt with it's sound of a fan since day one.One thing I have noticed, I can hear the fan(s) ... not super loud, but noticeable especially as I run this off a fanless MacBook Air.
Thanks! Yep I got the 3-dots and then goes black. 16" M1 MacBook Pro.What Mac are you using? Did you get the "three dots" animation that indicates the display is booting up?
It's very very faint, I think my old UltraFine 4K had them as well when it was warm.Same setup but I don't hear them and I'm super sensitive to that...have a 2012 iMac and dealt with it's sound of a fan since day one.
If I put my ear up to the top I can hear and feel the air coming out...maybe a faint sound of the fan/s but not really.
I suppose you're using the Thunderbolt 3 cable that comes with the display? Thanks! Yep I got the 3-dots and then goes black. 16" M1 MacBook Pro.
User Error! Working beautiful now thanks!!I suppose you're using the Thunderbolt 3 cable that comes with the display?
Did you make sure it's plugged into the display's Thunderbolt port, not one of the USB-C ports?
Have you tried another Thunderbolt/USB-C port on the MacBook Pro?
Is the MacBook Pro reporting that anything is plugged in via Thunderbolt? Check System Information's output in the PCI-Express, Thunderbolt and USB sections.
Stock cable? What model mac? Is it plugged into the Thunderbolt port on the display (not the USB-C ports)?Mine just showed up and it's plugged into power and my Mac via USB-C and it's a black screen. Anybody having issues?
It was not being plugged into the TB port. On max brightness the display is very dim. Any ideas? So what was it?![]()
Do they sound normal? In my new display one of them is making an annoying crackling sound… typical sound of faulty fan, I can only hear it when I put my ear on the monitor, or I am standing behind… strangeOne thing I have noticed, I can hear the fan(s) ... not super loud, but noticeable especially as I run this off a fanless MacBook Air.
I’ve heard some say it’s pretty dim for 600 nitsIt was not being plugged into the TB port. On max brightness the display is very dim. Any ideas?
It's not even usable. When it first plugs in it shows the desktop as bright, and then flashes to black and then back to desktop at about half brightness. There's no way it's normal. Doing an OS update and hoping that fixes it.I’ve heard some say it’s pretty dim for 600 nits
any issues w/ brightness?I got this display and set it up and the glossy finish really helps the colors pop. I have a Dell 27-inch monitor right beside it and the matte finish on the Dell monitor really helps to compare/contrast the color contrast between the glossy finish on the SD and the matte finish on the Dell monitor. I wish more monitors had the option for the glossy finish.
My just updated to 15.4 via Software Updates.View attachment 1975983
I wonder if Apple has yanked the software update. Just set mine up, it's running 15.3, and software update doesn't report any newer version (15.4) available.
Interesting. I'm in Canada, so maybe that's it?My just updated to 15.4 via Software Updates.
Dim compared to other 4K monitors?Mine arrived this morning - base model. The packaging is an ordeal ... not so much to unwrap, but to get the box folded back up for storage.
As others have noted, the display seems dim. The fan noise is not noticeable, but the fans can be felt through the top grating.
I'm using mine with a 2019 i9 iMac, and everything seems to work as advertised. I'm about to see if I'm blown away by the speaker quality. The speakers do seem to move some air!
Mine still is on 15.3 and hasn’t updated yet through Software Update.Interesting. I'm in Canada, so maybe that's it?
Maybe it depends on what it's connected to? I'm running Monterey 12.3 on M1 Pro MacBook.Interesting. I'm in Canada, so maybe that's it?
