iJustine is so far up the Apple PR machines ass... Can't even trust a single thing she says now. Some of the footage on her screen from her over-the-shoulder shot looks like it was added in post too?
That give review units to morons like her because she doesn’t understand them and therefore can’t critique **** like no HDR on a ****ing £1600 monitor.

Who the hell cares, once I plug in the display, it stays plugged in, the next time I unplug my 30" Apple display will be the first time I unplug my 30" Apple display. If I need to use a display in another room or take it with me I use my MacBook Pro. Can't for the life of my understand my people are getting worked up that the power plug is hard wired.

Surely you must know that plugs can fail for a variety of reasons. The plug should be user replaceable for that reason alone.

Most of the reviewers don’t mind the product. They’re just lamenting that the product is not something else. Most of the people complaining on here are just lamenting it wasn’t something else when what it is barely exists in the market anyway.

They’ll yeah but or dance around the point but that is the crux of it.

So embarrassing for iJustine. I love her enthusiasm, but if all she's going to be is a Unboxing Hype Bot, her audience will move on.

Reminds me of the guy from Ain't it Cool News, an indie fan site for movies which caught the eye of powerful studios because how they were tastemakers to the early adopter, nerd crowd.

Anyway, after Star Wars Prequel 1, the main writer reviewed Jar Jar Binks, arguable the worst movie character of all time, with Jar Jar's "Mee-sa likey" The site has been irrelevant ever since.

iJustine is close, or closed to crossing her "Mee-sa Likely" moment.

For anyone that is thinking of buying this: slap yourself, then buy an Intel 27" iMac. Computer, keyboard and mouse included. You're just paying extra to make it smaller.

Not everyone uses a computer the way you think they do.

The non-replaceable power cord is a fail. What does one do when they need a longer power cord? Use an unsightly/unsafe extension cord?

I upgraded my desk last year to a standing desk with monitor arms. The standard 6' power cords ended up being a tad too short after running it down through the arms and cable tray to the power strip. Luckily, I was able to replace them with 8' ones.

Perhaps this will teach you a lesson: just because it has an Apple logo on it and is also expensive doesn't mean that it's actually the best product in the field.

It's an expensive lesson, for certain, but eventually you had to learn it.

LOL! You're kidding, right? You made that comment because you think it's important that the poster needs to be "taught a lesson"?

LOL!

Sure I’ll get slated here but the only reason people are complaining is because this is expensive. Then people get triggered about all their stuff being expensive.

When time has a monetary assignment to it, the amount of time their stuff saves offsets the cost massively. The value for money function of it is higher than the other alternatives by an order of magnitude.

If you’re not making money with it then you’re probably not aware of this relationship or it doesn’t factor into your spending decisions. Which is fine. You probably don’t need it. You just want it and it’s painful if you reach out for it.

Just remember the influencers like iJustine are about making money too.

Also worth noting that the depreciation and asset value of a purchase should be factored in. Apple is excellent there.

Thinking anyone with their name starting with an "i" and wouldn't be bias is silly.

Given her subscriber numbers and views per video, together with the fact she's been around since people making and posting video on the internet became a thing, I'd wager she's been VERY good at this aspect. Probably has 8 figures in the bank.

it all depends on how people come across. There are posters who seem genuinely angry at people who are buying this display. What's the point?

For me, after reading the reviews, I cancelled my order with Apple, as I first want go into a store and see firsthand how the display performs and also its height relative to the desk. Jason Snell says it sits lower than the 27-inch iMac, so that is something to see in person (provided a tilt/height model is available to look at).

What if you want to route the cable through a hole in a desk as part of cabling management?

Actually, I've just realised this might not be an issue unless you're in the UK where our plugs are pretty wide and unfriendly for doing just that.

But also, what if you want a longer cable? Or your cable gets damaged?

Well, Apple must be aware of the not so ‘glowing reviews’ for this display Wiley based on price versus features. I’m not saying it’s not a quality display, but I think the pricing doesn’t match the competition in terms of what else is offered. But you’d think Apple would know that well before releasing a Non-HDR display like this.
Eh? Which competition? Please send me some links of competing 5K 27“ displays with speakers and a web camera.

Very much that.

I did consider going into the marketing influencer business myself. But I took the moral high ground and started a slum landlord empire instead.
