This includes new information detailing the tree landscaping around the building. Lots of apricot near the visitor parking lot (orange colored circles) and in the circle. And an apple orchard near the dining area (yellow circles).
Notice the apartment complex on the bottom left.

I remember watching Steve's City Council presentation...

"well, they are not for sale"

He sounded none to pleased that they would not give up that land.

I don't blame him. It makes the plot look kinda janky. Shame, really.

Nothing to do with earthquakes. San Francisco has plenty of tall buildings. The city of Cupertino restricts how tall buildings can be.

Steven P. Jobs Campus...

You know it is going to be named after Mr. Jobs! It just has to be...

I don't know who the architects and designers of the building are... but kudos to them for sure!

Nice pen for the sheep:p

Pretty sick bldg.

The building is a horrific waste of space in an area that is trying to intelligently manage growth.

IMO, the spaceship campus will not happen as it is proposed - without Jobs' superstar status the Cupertino planning boards will reject the current proposal and force Apple to come up with a different design that is better for Cupertino.

"Pretty sick bldg" is right on!

You know it is going to be named after Mr. Jobs! It just has to be...

The late turtlenecked-overlord would probably have rejected that idea....

Bull fight anyone? :p
I can imagine two scenarios already:

1. Apple fanboy vs Android fanboy battle.

or better yet,

2. Place the iPhone 5 prototype in the center, and have all the news reporters / rumor sites fight for it.

:p

Aren't there a lot of earthquakes in California? What's the point of building this thing now? It'll just get destroyed within a hundred years.

This is the real infinite loop ;p

No but really we need to name the building. It needs a cool name not "the new campus." Ideas...??

Wouldn't going from one side of the building to the other be a pain?

I suppose it will have some kind of transportation, but still, it seems weird.

This particular ship doesn't have a battle bridge. It has the main bridge and 4 shuttle bays. Its means of propulsion is a primary warp core with circular nacells. Johnny Cochran designed them. Wonder where they pan to travel too when its ready? LOL.

None of the major headquarters in the bay area are in tall buildings. Intel's, Google's, Oracle's, and Apple's current. Several reasons...earthquakes, the buildings are much farther spread out than in crowded city, etc.

webex (now cisco) building on freedom circle, santa clara: more than 12 floors
oracle buildings in redwood city: also more than 10 story
McAfee (formerly Yahoo HQ) is about 8 floors
Sales Force.com: more than 6 floors
Adobe in San Jose: Sky-scrapper in downtown SJC
Next to Adobe you will find Deloitte and Acer
Shall I continue?

Btw, making the spaceship 10 or 100 story tall is just plain stupid
