Just in time

As a San Jose Sharks fan, even though I'm from and live in Montréal, I know a bit about the area and IIRC, the height is restricted because the SJ Airport was built in a manner that it would be dangerous for aircrafts to fly in a city with buildings that are too tall.

the renderings look outstanding.
For sure this building will be amazing. Too bad Steve will miss this one. I am sure he's looking from above.

One more thing...it can fly! Steve is reinventing the building.
Can't wait to see how this building turns out. :apple:

I wonder, out of curiosity, if they have a quick way to go from one end of the building all the way to an opposite end.

They will have a duplicate CERN accelerator inside ring to zip people along to their destination. Will make hirings and firings much quicker!

such a shame Steve never saw his creation come to life. And whats even sadder is when he presented to the council he must have known the end was near :(

Research

Looks like the research people have an easy in, easy out but are removed from the mother ship.

Wonder if it comes with a running track?

No public transport option (i.e. regional train / long-distance train / subway)? That's kinda ridiculous, especially if there aren't any shuttle buses.

I'd rather be in the city, in a normal building, where I can reduce my environmental footprint.

Meh, at best.

Its a friggin circle dude

Yeah, but one with an Apple logo on it and it probably has a secret iPhone plug somewhere. And "it's so sterile". I only wonder if a delegation of Foxconn slave workers will be allowed to visit the place once per year to report about the glory of the empire in their worker drone homes in China.

Okay, that's enough evil cynicism for this morning (German time). It sure will be a nice building to look at, but people in their hysteria quickly forget that this is just another corporate building and not a monument.

If you build things, this is not the cheapest way to build something...We can make it curve all the way around the building... It's pretty cool.

Shareholders, behold. You know what you must do.

It'll be made out of brushed aluminum and aluminosilicate glass.

Nope....that's so 2010. You know Apple....we've had Beige, Colored Plastic, White Plastic, Brushed Aluminium w/Glass...its actually overdue a change. My bet is Black Carbon. They have been converting all their iLife and Pro products to black interfaces instead of the metallic style. I'd bet that the new HQ will have glass around the edge (obviously) with a black/dark aluminium roof. Then they can slap a light up Apple logo on the top and from space it'll look a bit like an old Apple Airport :D

I really love the concept. I hope that in the future we begin to build more styled buildings like the one that Apple are building. Function is above all important but so is aesthetics. I'm a sucker for the minimalist look.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

Something about centralizing 13,000 people/2.8 million sq.ft. into one location seems to invite groupthink, plus high cost of living as if margins will forever remain high.

Environmentally friendly, led backlit? Solar powered?
Self sustained ecosystem?

This building is going to be amazing!
I would love to go work there, even if it's just sweeping the floors.

... It is a lot to sweep, so you may have a chance. Just submit your application in time. ;-)

I love how there is smog-like pollution all around in the distance, but the Apple AnusOffice absorbs it all and cleans the environment.
