So a dozen similar complaints mean a class action lawsuit? We'll see where this goes. If this was under apple care, apple should have replaced the battery. Don't understand why not.
Read the article again. This person didn't a free replacement like your dad. They wanted to charge her.LOL, my dads had this problem and the screen popped off, you know what he did? Took it to the Apple store, they apologized and gave him a new one. I guess he could have filed a lawsuit? If he was bored, and an idiot? I don’t know, sounds like a company doing exactly what they should do?
Really? How do you explain the MacBook Air swollen batteries under Jobs then?
Happened to my mother-in-law's Apple Watch. I tend to cycle through new technology and so I don't have them long enough to experience this but Apple refused to fix her watch and gave her the $229 out of warranty estimate. I told her I would order a battery replacement kit and I successfully replaced the battery but the steps, detail and time to accomplish it was nutso. The battery in her watch was definitely swollen and is what caused the screen to pop off. After I got it back together following the iFixit guide it is working perfectly. This is definitely a problem Apple is going to have to take care of and is not due to misuse. Can you imagine having purchased a Series 1 solid Gold unit and the screen pops off. Geesh.
I had my Series 1 replaced twice for this issue (no cost). My watch was perfectly taken care of, thank you very much. It literally just made a subtle pop while driving, and the screen was separated.
If it happens again, I'm likely SOL, but watches should not be disposable, and certainly not for several hundred $. I have my grandfather's pocket watch, which is pushing 100 years old, still works. Seems like the battery paradigm should change to something almost like an SD card that can be replaced.
If it's not working, return/replace it, why sued? Just another greedy money grab.
So the list of bad news continues. So what. Did the stock price drop? Did the revenues overall drop? Is apple going under? No, no, no and no.
They have so many devices out there there are bound to be issues with some of them.
This is the flip side of the unfounded criticism. Two sides for every story. But I guess it’s only fashionable to post negative comments. So please stop the unnecessary hyperbolic criticism.you come to apples defence on every single topic. they don't care about you, stop defending apple.
You're still talking about a phone from 3 years ago? Just let it go and accept this is an issue and a lot of people aren't happy with the direction Apple is going at this timeOk, what type of CEO was the Samsung CEO who allowed the exploding Galaxy Note 7's?
This happened to me. I took it to an Apple store and they replaced it. If she was under warranty I’m quite skeptical Apple refused to replace it.
Huh? Clearly you don't even have the slightest clue what Tim was doing before he was tapped to be CEO. Yikes! The ignorance is staggering. Bean counter generally refers to accounting and cost. It has very little to do with operations. The list of bad news from Apple continues unabated. This is what happens when we have a bean counter CEO.
Because it's a wrist watch which means it dings the desk, things when you walk by to close, etc. just like any watch. I'd consider this normal wear and tear depending on the extent of the dings.from the photo, it looks like there are dents all over the 9 month old screen. How did that happen?
Unfortunately, this is beginning to become the norm with Apple. If they would just build the watch to be able to be serviced from the standpoint of the battery, it would eliminate this problem. The screen is only held down by a thin adhesive but I guess everything is just held together with adhesive these days. I now take a little more care not to get my watch wet after working on replacing a battery in one. I love the Apple watch but I would not purchase anything but the cheaper aluminum sport model. Both of my original Series 0 watches did this. My wife's did this, and then when I upgraded to the Series 3, my Series 0 I gave her did the same thing.
Edit:
Boy, I almost forgot about the issues I had at the Apple Store trying to get this fixed as it was out of warranty. They tried making me pay $229 or something absurd for repair. I basically told them to let me talk to the store manager, and at that point they repaired it for free. But, it was a nightmare dealing with regular store "geniuses".
Hmmm...weird.
I had a Series 0 replaced due to swollen battery after inspection at the North County San Diego store just 5 months ago, and I’d had it since launch.
Was a super awesome experience. Was hoping I would get a series 1 or 2 as a replacement but got the original...oh well, it works great still!
I’ve never had an issue. When I brought mine in they immediately knew what the issue was and didn’t ask any questions.I'm not. Really depend sometimes what store and what employee you bring it to I find for Apple warranty stuff or really warranty stuff with any retailer. Most of the time they take good care of you at Apple though.
