Sue some random guy that somehow was close in guessing…but don’t sue German and Kuo for constantly leaking out product details, launch dates, etc….Typical Apple

Did you read the legal filing?
This goes beyond guessing and can be compared to the iphone 4 legal case.

Any competent company would sue someone in this case given its ip/ trade secrets theft

I knew something had to be awry when Jon abruptly announced the cancellation of The Genius Bar podcast and stopped posting The Recycle Bin episodes a while back. Since then, he has only posted a negative review of iOS 26. Other than that, Prosser has been silent.

To be crystal clear: Apple didn’t file this suit against Prosser because there’s some misunderstanding or they want to “clear the record”… they’re out for blood and he is caught squarely in their crosshairs. These allegations are intensely serious and could potentially lead to criminal charges. He needs to shut up and lawyer up pronto.

All this time I thought fpt watermarked images came from a Chinese leaker.
I checked his video this is what he said in the intro "I have kept in touch with some little birdies over at the fruit company every year multiple times a year I am sent things and I resist I thought I was done with leaks but what I saw is just too significant not to share." If he was in China and said this he’d be fine but him being in the U.S. is very problematic.

This is the iPhone 4 leak all over again replace Gizmodo with fpt. It must be under extreme stress right now. I wish him luck.

If this is all true, it’s not some harmless leak, it’s straight up theft of trade secrets. This isn’t just guessing features or piecing together rumors, they literally accessed a dev iPhone, recorded unreleased software, and made content off it. Apple’s not being petty here, they’re doing what any company would do to protect their IP. Prosser’s been walking the line for a while, but this one feels like he finally crossed it.

this whole thing is ridiculous. He is ****ed and Apples lawyers will continue being lawyers.

Exactly. If you read this complaint as anything short of legal dynamite, you clearly don’t get how this works.

This case in a nutshell:

Your friend was friends with someone at a high profile company who had access to confidential information.

You bribed your friend to sneak onto “corporate friend’s” iPhone and steal said confidential information, recorded the confidential information and published it with your name attached to it on the internet knowing darn well it would get attention.

Mind you, this is all so you can be the first to post the secrets on your website, not for any real monetary gain (like insider trading), but so you can gossip about unreleased software.

Aside from the obvious breach of trust between two friends, getting your friend fired and in legal trouble and so on, this is straight up childish.

This is all obsessing i’ve the design of software. I’d understand if it concerned a breakthrough drug or maybe even military intelligence, but to see the new camera UI, come on.

If he actually stole code, blueprints, renderings for manufacturing, like actual secrets then I’d agree. This is akin to ripping the silly wrap they put on cars while they test drive them before actual for sale. Oh no, we saw it. So what.

Apple is acting like it’s the stealth bomber. It’s a UI. Get a grip you (Apple) look like a petty vindictive bitch.

This is the difference between clowns like Prosser and disciplined guys like Gurman and Kuo.

You don't actively conspire and encourage others in the plan to steal it, then actively explore confidential software.

And he used FaceTime? Come on. At least learn to use Signal and WeChat.

Stealing trade secrets is stealing trade secrets.
Apple has every right to sue the pants of jon

Lol guys we found prosser's burner account!

Sounds like he really screwed over his friend for those UI details, not surprised Apple is suing him but kinda surprised his (former?) friend *isnt*. Like, look, this is kind of thing you pull if you think the other dude has epstein’s list on his phone, not some Apple UI tests. Talk about being a bad friend

Ha! I’m just rooting for the underdog. He will get squashed if Apple wills it. I think it isn’t necessary though.

Where are the leakers, rumor makers that could have told me not to buy an iPhone 16 since there was no AI? Now that would have been useful and Apple may of been warranted on such a hypothetical assault.

It's called civil conspiracy. Look it up before you go to bed.

According to your logic, someone who plans a bank robbery or bank fraud hasn't done anything wrong.
