I'll have to use that when writing to those fascists in DC.

DC - "Sorry, gotta regulation. You gotta PAY to play with the big boys with the billions."

Where Apple come from it doesn’t. Which angle do you really think they were coming from?

As much as it’s a serious issue I can’t help but think corporations should stay out of this kind of stuff. GTAdvanced could have gotten great mileage out of this though.
From my experience the middle finger is rarely used in all seriousness. It's usually used in a playful manner. I've used that emoji at least 4 times today. Usually accompanied with "lol"

How does this help those that are being bullied? If anything, it's a further indication that the youth of the world are being encouraged to avoid typing out a meaningful sentence - but instead leveraging an emoji.

Everyone's heart is in the right place. I just don't think an emoji is going to accomplish much. /cynicalme

Just think of how many will use that "claiming" "bullying" is happening.
So many people use the "bullying" word unnecessarily. It's such a umbrella word.
Everyone needs coddled, held and their ego stroked these days. Lord forbid any criticism come their way...."BULLY!!!"

That's the way of the world. Then again I rather see over reaction then no reaction at all.

I doubt this sort of thing is going to work. Some guy used to bully me in school, and it stopped after I made him cry. Another guy did, and it stopped after I clearly didn't give a **** for like a year. Sending around an Emoji to express your feelings just makes you look like a sissy, which is what the bullies want.

More like there is a lot of bullying, but they only target those who are easy to bully because they show weakness or have reasons to be picked on. I'm trying to imagine right now sending an anti-bulling Emoji, promoted by the Ad Council (lol), to a bully... It would make matters worse for sure. Great way to commit "social suicide." Worst idea ever.

I can't help but wonder how an emoji will stop bullying. Will the person who enjoys tormenting people suddenly stop because he sees this emoji

It's not to stop it dead in its tracks, it's more of building awareness don't you think? Wearing pink doesn't stop breast cancer, but it's a symbol people like to use to spread awareness. With more of the young being brought up and educated on certain things, the norm is to stop. Young kids now are more accepting of gay people and different ethnicities than say...kids growing up 30 years ago. Movements matter, at least in my opinion. Social progress is always a good thing despite the eye rolls and jokes.
