Just think of how many will use that "claiming" "bullying" is happening.
So many people use the "bullying" word unnecessarily. It's such a umbrella word.
Everyone needs coddled, held and their ego stroked these days. Lord forbid any criticism come their way...."BULLY!!!"

You share a statement complaining about an umbrella word, yet form your own umbrella statement of your own on the subject.

Not sure why anyone would think this is to "stop bullying" all on its own. That's silly.

It's to support COMMUNICATING about bullying, in support of a specific campaign. Communication IS part of alleviating any problem. And if the campaign helps erode bullying, Apple's support in turn is welcome.

It's worth a try vs. not having a campaign at all. Don't let it bother you too much.

Hey, dude, you're pretty cool, and we care about you!
Translation: I'm only being nice to you, because this emoji will make me look like a nice person in front of my peers... Otherwise I don't care about you, and will forget that I ever wrote this after five minutes are up.

It reminds me of the unknown pokemon :p

When I was younger bullying was when you got your rear kicked every other day. It seems like these days it seems to be if someone is belittling someone else. Has the definition expanded with the current generation?

Unicode adopted middle finger emoji, but refused to add Buddha emoji...
Clearly we're living in the Biff Tannen line of reality.

This is actually very disturbing. This only confirms the fact that corp/media are owned by you know who and unfortunately this means even Apple.

There is no way that someone in the creative dept thought this was a perfect symbol to represent bullying. Totally illogical. This is just an excuse to use the symbol as a "F U" to the "useless eaters".

Are you somehow mocking Apple for attempting to help smash cyber-bullying?

I'll mock them - screw the childlike emoji hype - Amazon is up $53/share today on their net/cloud services. Apple is buying property all over the place, wasting time on emoji garbage, failing to innovate, wasting $100,000,000,000 on useless buybacks, and delivered a pathetic 4% return on stock price performance over the past 3 years. Cook sucks.

Of course. Don't you know that today everyone is special, gets a gold star, a trophy and must be coddled every minute of every day? There are no losers only winners, and you can't tell kids how it is...

Yes, I was bullied in school. I still had my core friends and family to rely on. I got over it and it made me a stronger and better person. Teaching your kids how to deal with it is so much better than some emoji or this coddling we do today.

Actually, it's about ethics in modern hieroglyphics.

It has, my daughters come to me saying they were bullied and I ask how, and one of them said so and so told her she was ugly, or what ever.

I didn't minimize or marginalize the issue but that's not bullying - at least as I remembered.

I've told my daughters if anyone puts their hand on them, hits/kicks/etc. Kick them in the groin - that will stop them in their tracks. Don't go running to a teacher or anything just clock them.

Please, someone help me translate this. I thought I was up on conspiracy theories but this one has me stymied.
