Please everyone, let's discourage Apple by keeping as many ports on the Pro line as possible.
Just because you don't use an SD card slot... Sigh, why are they asking us these questions anyway... they should be creating products we didn't know we wanted, not take away the very things we use. TC and co. are clearly out of touch.

My biggest hope with the ports is that the computer will be chargeable via the USB-Cs on both sides. It's always annoying when the nearest plug to where you're sitting is on the opposite side.
Would be a huge oversight if Apple didn't do this. Would be fun if either of the 4 ports charged the machine and they replaced the headphone jack with a Lightning headphone port and even that charged the machine in a push.

This whole "one port" crap needs to stop.

Quit trying to dingle-dongle us to death.

Cylinder Mac - internal storage options? LOL. Really?

Now you want to take ports away on stuff ... so you can sell some stupid piece of hardware that can attach to the new Stingy-Port(tm).

Thin is.., well, lets see. It bends. It separates. It's gone beyond stupid.

I really like the HDMI and headphone jack! We aren't in a wireless world yet!!!

I don't use HDMI daily, but it's nice to have. Also, USB-A is nice as there are so many things that still have it.

Apple is doing away with a lot of things, including it's customers. I don't see myself getting the macbook with 1-USB-C. I sure as hell would avoid a Macbook pro with only 4 USB-Cs, and no headjack. Some transition time is required..

And the only thing that really needs to be replace immediately is Tim Cook. Craig federighi seems like an awesome replacement!

I use the headphone jack because I can pick up any pair that's close because a laptop is always on the move. And I know I'm not the only photographer who uses the MacBook Pro as their weapon of choice. How would their own photographer feel if they needed a dongle to import photos? As others have said, it's not like there's a lack of space.

SD card is an old technology. I have a DSLR, I use it, but it's clear its days are numbered.
You don't shoot RAW then, and therefore don't do photography professionally. I have yet to see a wireless method to import RAW files from cameras. Aside from USB 3...but very few cameras support this. The MacBook Pro should have all (or most) of the ports a professional needs

Headphone jack on MacBook Pro would be a definite loss...as is the removal of a standard USB port in favour of multiple USB-C ports. So, I can't connect my iPhone to my MacBook Pro with the cable that came with the phone without an extra adaptor?
Currently there is almost nothing you could connect to this computer without an adapter. It's way too early to drop USB type A and mini DP/Thunderbolt on a "pro" computer. I think if this is real, I'll buy another 2015 MBP as a backup. What the heck are they thinking at Apple? :(

Here is/was a great opportunity to move everything to USB-C and make the world a better place.

I guess Apple is not interested.

It's physically too large. It's 2.5 mm thick versus 1.5 mm. That's a huge difference that'll become more apparent over the next 5 years. Update USBc to be at least as thin as Lighting, then Apple should get on board and USBx could be the port for everything that's not wireless.

What's the obsession with Apple requiring dongles for everything? It's not like there is a lack of space for proper USB ports, thunderbolt and so on. We're going to have to end up carrying a whole array of different adapters to connect our stuff.
it's the exact opposite though - they are pushing to use fewer ports, or one port that interfaces with all of their devices.

I'm the only one here that use bluetooth Headsets and sometimes speakers?.... But I still need floppy drives, Lol (The details are not important, but it is just legacy technology, hard ($$$$$) to replace and use 3.5" floppy discs ).

Well I guess this means we'll see the redesigned MBPs sometime next year. I can't fathom why they'd ask this now on the eve of a new redesign if it was really coming.
