Would it not be the case that if his position at Apple was about to change in any way, it would have to be reported to the SEC first?

What a 'glitch' though. That could have wiped millions off APL's share price in minutes.

It's possible that this was a premature maneuver based upon a real situation. I wouldn't be surprised if the bio is removed again in the near future, but at a more appropriate time. It's not a random accident. Where there is smoke, there is usually fire. Restoring the bio is not a statement that Ive isn't in the process of leaving. It just means that Apple isn't ready to talk about it now.

Judging by the most recent iOS 7 UI redesign and the fact that the iPad and iPhone have not really gone anywhere from a design sense since iPhone 4, I'd say Jony's mind has been elsewhere for quite some time and that his heart's not in it anymore. The writing is on the wall, you can all quote me when it comes true!

:)

In all seriousness, though, Jony leaving Apple would be the end of Apple.

Agree with all of that exept that it would be the end of Apple. Steve is gone and Apple is still up and running, Ive would have even less impact. I think his best days are over and it's time for a new awesome design era. Or maybe he is working on a completely new product category.

It wasn't that long ago that there were rumors about him wanting to work less and and move back to England. Maybe he's still wanting to do that.

Oh no! What will they do without you?! Lol!!!!

P.S. You are .00000000001% of the iOS user base, sorry to tell you, but you literally have no idea the like of the design compared to the dislike.

Almost everyone I know hates the new design so....

also I have an app that allot of companies have to use so if I switch so do allot of other people.

Can't you work something like that in the severance package? Something like, we'll pay you 2 years of salary if you sign a contract that you wont work for our rivals during that period?

Maybe. You're giving something up for compensation, the lack of which is a key objection to non-comps in those localities that restrict or prohibit them.

In any case, that's something to drop a few hundred bucks consulting with an attorney about. Devil's in the details, quite literally.

none of what you said in the first two paragraphs is really wrong so i would have to disagree with the last one.

i think its time to freshen up. he perhaps wants something else but in such a fast changing world i think you need to get someone new in every now and again

Staff at Apple must find the miles of forum for a glitch interesting.

What I find impressive is that the executives pictured in alphabetical order. I wonder who cooked that up. Of course Cook comes first. For a company dedicated to image at an incredibly detail level I'm surprised there is no cohesion through the exec pics. They could probably do a re-shoot with one photographer.

I do love Apple's design aesthetic and the depth of it. It permeates pretty much everything. Steve Jobs was a master at this. Even his portrait pics were often works of art in their own right.

I doubt this to be the case NOW..He would not have been given the added responsiblity of ios7 and 8 if he had made it clear that he wants to lower his work load or just move away from cupertino and live a different lifestyle..I think he is fairly committed at the moment, untill apple comes out and says otherwise (from the trend of him getting added responsibility on top of allready important design)..One also must realize that JI is not the only designer at apple, i bet they have other brilliant designers just waiting for their time to come !

Yes let's see what the new iOS looks like after it's had a few years of refinement. OSX and iOS weren't perfect out of the gate either. Did everyone love aqua? Of course not.

Well, it’s been a few years so I think a thread bump isn’t being irresponsible here. I personally would say most improvements since 2013 have been result of edging back towards what the interface was like in back 2013; a bit more use of button shapes, a bit more use of contrasty/dark color, a bit more effective use of space by putting more functions on the screen at once instead of hiding them and requiring extra swipes to do with used to take one swipe (example, control center). Certain things have definitely gotten worse, like the podcast app and the unnecessary bold font titling of base Apple apps, as if the user’s forgotten that they called up the Mail app during the half second between pressing the Mail icon and seeing the app.
