LMAO @ the Apple cult members who are declaring This will be HUGE! and It will SELL LIKE HOTCAKES! Lol

Did I miss them announcing the price points???

Because knowing Apple, this thing will cost EASILY $500 neighborhood... In which case it WILL NOT sell like hotcakes.

The Kindle sells like hotcakes because it's affordable and does only one task, and does it well.

This is not a Kindle. It's a giant iPod Touch and it WILL not cost the same as a Kindle.
LOL at the people posting this kind of stuff. Apple just had a record breaking quarter. Do you really think the price will be an issue for people?

Agreed. The iPod touch is smaller (meaning more portable) and cheaper. If this device is $400-$500, it may be saved, but otherwise I'm guessing we have another Apple TV here. Something that will sell, but in limited quantities.

yup, apple tv part 2 - and i wouldn't buy hoping for added features... cuz they won't add them. FAR too centered around the apple ecosystem.

Wow! these guys really know how to drag out a presentation! Just tell how much it costs?

Right, it's just a huge Ipod.

They could of just come out, held it up , read out specs, flip it around, tell us the damage $$$.

Let the big 3rd party handle that one.

If there isn't still sandboxing... which, seeing as it's the same App Store.. I'm guessing there will be. I reckon all the iPhone/Touch limitations will still exist.

For people saying "well what did you expect?"
Apple could have at least tried to change the main layout of the thing. Make the UI more like that of a computer not a iTouch. If they did that I think there'd be a lot less bitching.

THEY ALSO HAVE 3G!!!

This needs multitasking bad....I can't even imagine trying to do actual business work with iwork....

Let's imagine this. I need to make a new presentation for a new product line. Normally, I am bouncing between spreadsheets, pictures, documents, etc and pulling data from all these different sources and not having the ability to bounce around, pull data in makes it difficult to actually work on. If I have to close every application for the next (even with saved state since sometimes it is necessary to have 2 documents opened at once) I will be very disappointed...well moreso that I already am anyway :(

I wonder if this thing has enough oompfh to run a down and dirty 3d app. A vector drawing app is needed too.

I like how they keep turning it vertical to make page layouts in a format designed for paper publishing!

It's about what I expected. I was hoping for something revolutionary, but realistically expecting a nice, aesthetically pleasing take on tablet computers, and that is what Apple delivered. I have no use for this device and will certainly not be shelling out any cash for it, but it does look very well done. But it offers nothing that my MacBook and iPod Touch don't already have.

I think a large part of the problem is that the months and months of ridiculous and constant hype was too much for any device to live up to, and thus you have a bunch of fanboys with long faces screaming "FAIL!!" everywhere.

Can some of the disappointed explain what they wanted or expected instead of knocking what it does have?

I believe people were expecting a little more than just the iPhone OS blown up for a bigger screen. Namely flash, multitasking, etc. iWork is good, but right now that seems to be the only thing differentiating it from the iPhone/iPod touch. While they have a smaller screen, they also are far more portable. If the iPad is priced too high ($700-800+), I don't see why people would get it when they already have an Phone/iPod touch + laptop.

Reasons to be disappointed

Somebody mentioned Stephen Fry. Who is he? He's a British actor and TV personality. He has weird nose always facing his left side, he is trying to appear intelligent, while he appears rather dumb and he must be the biggest snob in the world. I bet he will love the tablet. We are only days away from seeing these self-conscious people in Starbucks with their artificially busy looks and brand new Apple tablet. Personally, I'm going back to paper and pen. Anybody wants an iPhone?
