What about fixing the data carrier bug, where even if you have intentionally turned on WIFI, and use it --you think-- to browse the web, you are still being dinged for data traffic by your Cell phone carrier?

That is I think one of the major fixes that needs to come through.

I did discover a thread on Apple Discussions, related to patch for Verizon carrier only.
Not sure if it is truly a final fix, or just lessens the impact.
And no word on similar double-billing while on WiFi for other carriers.

I reckon IOS 6.0.1 will come at the announcement, or shortly after, at least.

Apple's has a history of this.

(Edit... So has my spelling mistakes)

How about 'Turn By Turn' in Maps for Australian users. Looks nice in MOST countries which ALREADY have it.

Tomtom solves this for me. I don't mind using Apple apps either, but when something doesn't fufil my needs, i look elsewhere.

How do you refresh the view in the updates tab in the App Store?

On previous versions you could just press the updates tab, but with iOS 6 you can't do this.

What happens is that the main window says that all apps are up to date, but the tab at the bottom says there are 1 or more updates available, and the only way to refresh is to close the app and the background process, then reopen the app. Hardly ideal :(

The update should do more than that. Many people are having issues with the new iOS 6. I wonder if anyone from apple read from this forum?

Dictionary improvements....

you make a mistake in Mail, or any app, which is underlined in red.... You then select "Suggest" and select the correct spelling.. However, when you move off the text, it becomes underlined again, suggesting the word you KNOW is now correct, its still wrong...

Sometines when you 'tap and hold' this works too,, sometimes it doesn't

Just get the Nokia Lumia 920. It blows the next 10 iPhones out of the water, which isn't surprising, since the iPhone is overpriced, low quality American junk.

This is the same device that has a pillow that "plugs" into AC, and Nokia calls it 'wireless charging', since the phone still must have physical connection to the pillow from the back.. Ya... Ok

Mine works flawlessly so far. What do you mean?

On the iPhone you can't delete individual tracks with iTunes Match switched on. You can only download whole albums/Artists. You have no way of knowing if an individual track is downloaded or just cached (ie Streamed) and when you switch off iTunes Match it clears the cache. Basically you can't manage your music as well as you could in iOS5 on the iPhone.

Yes. Definitely get the Lumia. Then put it away in the unopened box. You'll have a collector's item in no time.

The phone goes from full charge to total shutdown in 4-5.5hrs use, with every feature disabled (iCloud, notifications, LTE, dimmed to 25%, browsing an email use ONLY). I really hope you are correct, but this is not simply a percentage reading: IT DIES. Maybe they can find a way to make it get the 8hrs browsing they claim. If they have any interest in solving they are silent about it. The techs ive talked to at apple and the people in the store agree it is a problem and im not getting close to spec, and only can suggest i replace, restore, reinstall etc, all of which ive done to no effect. And for the idiot claiming it is trolls, look on the apple forums, where the complaints are tied to apple ID. I love the phone other than the battery life that makes it a real problem to charge during the day. I lined up on opening day for it, and it is a flat fact that the battery sucks. i have screenshots of every time i reached 1% battery an the usage is from 3.5 to 5.5 hra with features stripped. The iphone 4 did not require this- I am using NO features to get this bad life, where the 4 lasted longer and i had everything on! I have also had the camera flash sync error, so hurray for that fix, but I'd tolerate that for the life I the phone if the battery life would even occasionally reach their advertised levels.

Have you replaced the phone? I'm getting a good 8 hours of usage on a consistent basis. I did have bt issues, took the phone in to an Apple store and had it swapped out and that solved my problems. If you did replace the phone and are having the same issues, I would have to venture a guess that some app you're running is sucking the battery dry.

I replaced the phone after 5 days and the replacement was the same. I didn't restore from backup on the replacement and installed no apps for a charge cycle to see how it went- no difference. Now yesterday I was within 5 mins of getting 6 hrs usage, and if it would do that more often and not die at 4 or so, I could live with it.. I just wish they would state they are aware and working on it. If its at all possible for you to get 8hrs, I'm afraid I may actually have a hardware issue. I hope not! Glad you got one that's working right!

Have you ever considered that it's you?

Cause nooooooo one else is complaining about the battery issue? Open your eyes man!

----------

It is unbelievable that the HORRIBLE battery life problem gets no mention at all in the update! I have turned off LTE, wifi, iCloud, dimmed screen to less than 25%, turned off notifications, etc an tho phone WILL NOT last beyond 5.5 hrs usage, often dying at 4 hrs.. Unbelievable misrepresentation of battery life by apple and not even any acknowledgment that they are aware and working on it! I have already had my first iPhone 5 replaced and the new one is just as lousy as the first. WHY DOES THE UPDATE NOT ADDRESS THIS? Hundreds of pages on the apple.com forums on this. Disgusted with apple after loving them since the 3G. The 5 is worse than my 2 year old iPhone 4 in battery life - much worse! FIX YOUR LOUSY EQUIPMENT OR ADMIT YOU INFLATED YOUR STATS!

Well said!!!

ummm a bigger battery? Not that difficult a concept.

Agreed. I don't care how thin this phone is give me battery. I'm only getting 4-5 hours battery life down to 0% battery. This is my third brand new 64gb AT&T 5 not a warranty replacement. Set up from scratch also. Not a restore from backup. I've been dealing with this problem for 3+ weeks with apple and now I just carry around a charging cable with me everywhere.
Sorry for the rant.

Wow. We have a 32GB Black(mine) and White(wife's), she has had no complaints and I have been very impressed with the battery life. Sometimes I notice it drains faster with my ususal activities and others slower but I yet to run out during the day.

Could it be the 64gb model??
