Surely those are not the next iPhone unless this is old info and the report should be "tested." It's 10 months to the next iPhone launch. Seem prototype test phases should have ended a while ago and Apple would be testing and tweaking the chosen design and getting ready to place part orders and fabricating the die tools to make it very soon.
Its probably testing for the iPhone 8 in 2018. The iPhone 7s is already slated for 2017 most likely.

I am pretty sure the design is already decided. These phones have long lead times. They may be deciding on minor technical details, but definitely not 10 prototypes.

Exactly, 10 months out, maybe less, the design should be finalized. I think these sources are just running a little behind the actual development timeline for next year's iPhone(s). Maybe in a few days it will be two or three prototypes and a few days later we'll hear from these sources that the design is now finalized.

Talk is cheap. I'll make up my mind what to believe when leaks are posted.

If I could pre-order my iPhone 8 now I would. These new iPhones are going to be the very best iPhones Apple has ever made.
It'll probably be the thinnest ever! So awesome! I want it now!

Just hope they let the 4.7" iPhone get all the top-end features as well. I love the smaller form factor, but I want all the cool stuff too.

I think having diverse suppliers will be key, and I am hoping for premium phones that offer both OLED and LCD. Not happy with burn-in on my android devices that have OLED, and if Samsung is the only supplier, it's clear they haven't solved that issue yet.
Can you tell us what devices have burn in, I have two OLED devices over a year old with zero burn in, how old were they when this happened?

People do report burn in and there seems to be ample evidence that such a concept exists with oled whether or not your own device exhibits this feature.

I've had three Samsung phones (S7 currently) and I have a Sony OLED monitor. Never noticed any burn in on any of them.

I hate oled. It is not natural and tends to over saturate which feels like a toy gadget.

Someone's getting their panties in a bunch. I'm not saying this hasn't happened, I'm asking when, and what devices. Are they older units, as the reliability of these screens gets better each year..the point being that any concerns over next year's screens might be moot if it's 3 year old case studies that are being used as evidence.

Displaymate did an indepth review of the s6 screen last year and labelled it perfect, with 100% colour accuracy. The s7 is even better. How can this be described as not natural is beyond me. The screens have different viewing modes like a TV, you can turn up the saturation for gaming if you like that sort of thing, but there's also the natural.setting. to say that you hate oled is such a weird comment... let me guess tho, when apple do oled and it looks the same, you will love it. Lol

The oled implementation on the galaxy does give me a headache after using the phone for a bit. So I can't say I really like it.

Well you are royally screwed when apple copy the same technology then aintcha...
So throw some ad-homs around. Got it.

If apple copied oled, then using that logic, Samsung copied almost everything else, wifi, cellular chip, not even their own processors, fingerprint reader, etc.

Ok, if you want to play your oh so beloved word games.. when apple start using oled technology in their screen displays have you considered what you will do as you hate oled? Stick with a 6 plus forever?

There is micro-oled and other developments on the horizon. Until then yep, I'll stick with the 6s or 7s or whatever they call it.

"got your panties in a bunch" and "royally screwed"...talk about word games.

CPU/GPU combo is already great. The problem today is iOS.
Apple is stubborn as hell because they sell millions in the first few weeks.
Profit margins are higher when you slowly iterate.
It sucks, but Apple does not need a Note 7 to blow up.
They could improve the displays though. With that I agree.
They should use standard resolutions.
