Now, iPhone users will have no other excuses on why they don't want to leave Apple for Android lmao.
That's like the responses I see from Android users about Apple getting their way.
I would prefer a different color so I know what communication standard was used. However, expect in the Messages app to show the following:
iMessage message from another user: blue bubble
SMS message from another user: green bubble
RCS message from another user: orange bubble
too complex yet Google burned through 6 different messaging platforms lmaoWhy is stuff that Android has been doing for years suddenly too complex for Apple to handle?
Read the fine print. "RCS Universal Profile" not the Google RCS thing. To early to tell how this will work and what form it will take.I don't know why apple was so against this at first. This is good for everyone.
A blinding yellow would be great lmaoI‘m wondering which color they will choose for the RCS bubbles …
Brown could be a good choice …![]()
Anyone know if Apple will maintain blue and green bubbles, or if it will introduce a new color bubble for RCS messages?
No this is to try & stop the European Union coming after iMessage.Yes, Google (and Samsung?) have been goading into doing this, but now have the high ground in that they can say they're working with a standard. It neatly knocks down one frequent complaint that detractors wheel out.
It will go through Google servers since no wireless carrier in the United States supports the RCS standard currently, since T Mobile is shutting down their RCS server.Apple users in shambles🤣
Either way, at least Google would finally shut up about it. Hopefully the RCS Apple implements won't have to go through Google's server.
Whats that got to do with complexity? Isn't the fact that google can create and burn through 6 different messaging platform in 10 years mean it not complex to create?too complex yet Google burned through 6 different messaging platforms lmao
are you serious?
A combination of things like the European Union looking at iMessage & carriers starting to adopt RCS around the world.I wouldn't be surprised if one of the carriers notified Apple that they would be deprecating SMS/MMS in the relatively near future. Apple was always going to have to move to RCS at some point down the line. And notice that Tim Cook didn't say never, just that it wasn't a priority. Something changed to up the priority.
I actually never had a group chat in my whole life. The idea alone sounds annoying.
