Not unexpected, especially in regards to the Macbooks. What would be surprising is if Apple release an updated version of the 2015 MBP alongside these too.

Sure, I would prefer desktops being announced but perhaps Apple will kowtow to that crowd later this year?

Are we suppose to believe that Apple will announce a Siri speaker, iPad Pro 10.5" AND an update to MacBooks at WWDC? an event that for the last 3 years they have used to show off software only!

I certainly don't. The smart speaker perhaps could happen. The iPad and Mac updates are highly unlikely. WWDC is primarily developer based and I can't see Apple drawing this much attention away from the true meaning of WWDC.

I don't believe this. Remember the March 2017n "event"? There was no event, they update their website with red iPhone and new, cheap iPad and that's it!
Oh, I forgot about the April after Prima Aprillis joke by P. Shiller about new iMac's coming later this year and new, redesigned Mac Pro. Oh yeah, but there is no sign about them in this report!
And no, I don't want new MBP cos I bought new one in February and I don't won't to get it old.

This speculation about new hardware at WWDC happens every year, and everyone pinning their hopes on it almost always ends up disappointed.

I'd expect a denial to "leak" from one of Apple's trusted sources within days.

I find this rumour to be highly suspect:

WWDC is not typically a hardware release keynote. The Macbook Pro also just got released in Nov, and they just did an iPad product lineup reshuffle. I'm honestly not sure how this rumour believes that we'll see these items updated.

It would take courage to do a CPU speed bump only upgrade, so I'm wary as courage seems to be all that apple has anymore.

They need a reasonably priced 32gb option with a decent gpu. Base models also need to have at least as good battery life as the 2013/2015 models. If they miss those, they might as well pack up their market share and go home. A price cut across the board and non touch bar models (for those that dont need an expensive gimmick) at all performance levels would be nice.

I still think they should release the 2015 form factor with Kaby lake, 32gb, MagSafe, a big honkin battery and a top end mobile gpu. Call it the MacBook power user edition .

No minis... makes me sad.

Why Apple, why?!

"Today's report makes no mention of the iMac" <sigh>

My bet is on Apple waiting for the upcoming AMD APU

The Macbook Air is dead. Its not coming back, there is no reason with the 12" Macbook and the 13" Macbook Pro both being smaller than it.

Sure there is ... it is called price.

Mac mini please!

Ideally Apple TV sized miniaturization with 60 Hz 4K output, but I will take whatever I can get. Even a tiny spec bump with newer CPU and USB-C.

I don't expect an Apple TV refresh until October when Apple is rumored to reveal a new (workstation?) variation of the MBP--hopefully an AMD APU (Ryzen + Vega).

I just bought a touch bar in Jan. LOL! This would be really annoying.

If they bring out a 15" without touch bar but with Touch ID. I will be even more annoyed.

Doubtful, unless that happens in the fall with the rumored new MBP.

The most believable is the Siri speaker and that's probably only to give developers the time to build apps for it before it launches later in the year.

Hopefully the next iMac ( perhaps high-end model) will support the Apple Pencil so creative people won't have to buy a Cintiq or M$ Surface Studio

Probably not. Going AMD for CPU would prevent them from also going Thunderbolt 3 since AMD currently doesn't license the thunderbolt tech, which currently requires an Intel CPU

Unless Apple walks back on their "Thunderbolt 3 or nothing" "future"... which I don't think they will.

Could you imagine buying Thunderbolt 3 based devices that only work on your Macbook Pro 2016, but literally no other Apple computer? I couldn't imagine Apple doing that.
