We need workstations and servers, not a re-release of stuff you just put out a few months ago.
Sigh. Discontinue those air and macbook things, just make one laptop in three sizes from student config to pro user. Nonsense to have 983402 different versions. No wonder the servers and workstations keep getting ignored.
No thanks. Having 2 models is good. Just get rid of the MBA as it's just outdated (although I still own mine from 2011). But having a form factors is good have one consumer Mac with option to become pro-sumer and one other Mac that's oriented to pro's and has all the necessary power and necessary upgrades.

Guys, I didn't bought the 2016 one because it was overpriced and underpowered.

I wanted to wait and buy this one, but this update was too soon and I don't think its going to be bumped enough,

Should this be my new macbook pro? or should I wait more?

There was an article here recently that talked about a redesing ... omg hate not knowing what to do

Make this guy CEO please. Thanks.

I just bought a touch bar in Jan. LOL! This would be really annoying.

If they bring out a 15" without touch bar but with Touch ID. I will be even more annoyed.

No reason to be annoyed, unless they actually do something with the design and our the touchbar that you would prefer. The move from Skylake to Kabylake doesn't bring anything in terms of performance. Kabylake has the exact same micro code and cpu architecture as Skylake. The only difference is the move from 14nm to 14nm+ production process and the differences are tiny at best. You get 100MHz higher frequencies at the same TDP and that's it and with the same cpu architecture the IPC is exactly the same.

It's the tiniest "upgrade" from one series of Intel SKU's to another we have ever had. The move from Intel HM170 to HM270 chipset doesn't offer anything fancy other than support for Intel Optane Memory either, which is not a part of the Mac line-up anyways.

You haven't missed out on anything in terms of CPU and chipset.

why update the macbook air and Macbook BEFORE the way overdued desktops. THe macbook pro, I can understand it needs refinement. THough I doubt apple will bend over and give people a USB connection or something like that. But the other two, nobody buys them because of horsepower anyway. Its just stupid that they dont focus on the overdued machines.

I have a late 2012 MacBook Pro with Retina 13.3 inch and would love to upgrade to a 15 inch MB as my next laptop, just don't know when that will be because our current MB is still running like a champ with no issues. Hope Apple can make some adjustments on those prices lol.

I find this rumour to be highly suspect:

WWDC is not typically a hardware release keynote. The Macbook Pro also just got released in Nov, and they just did an iPad product lineup reshuffle. I'm honestly not sure how this rumour believes that we'll see these items updated.
Macs used to get refreshed multiple times per year, until the last abnormally long cycle. There would be nothing unusual at all about a silent spec bump around June, but I don't see them announcing it at WWDC. The spec bumps would just go live on the store, as they always have in the past.

I am stepping away from the "Just purchased a MacBook Pro" thread right about....now.

Meh, sell your couple month old one for a couple hundred less than new and get the new one. I know I got my money worth from mine thus far. Paid for itself in a couple weeks.
