They'd better deliver something to make me optimistic about or...I'm done with iOS. I'm not a fan of having to jailbreak and not update anymore. That's the main drawback of google, right? Waiting for a release of software?

I'm a fan of jailbreaking, I know I can be more creative than Apple lol.

Because a phone you haven't seen yet can't be any good?

Don't be silly, we all know what it is.

I look forward to a $300-350 iPhone if done correctly. I don't care if it's got a plastic case as I put my phone in a case anyway. Just because it's plastic doesn't mean it has to be cheap looking.

It's a phone not some high end sports car that only a select few can own. Anyone can buy one at freaking Walmart. When they were only available from Apple or AT&T you may could have made a point sort of about it.

For $300-350 I'd be more willing to buy a new one every year. I wouldn't sign a contract that's for sure

Honestly I'm not looking for anything major to be released in iOS7 either.
I think we'll see it in iOS8 along with a revamped iPhone for 2014

You are reacting to rumors as if they are true. 90% of next iPhone rumors are false.
So far i think Apple considers the 4 and 4s to be their low cost phone, when the 5 s comes out then the 5 is a low cost phone.

There are reports of plastic casing. Seems pretty legit to me. And it's more like this: 90% of iPhone rumors are true or close to true.

I'd be interested in a lower cost iPhone as well - but as long as AT&T doesn't offer T-Mobile style "uncarrier" plans I'm getting my phone subsidized. I see no sense in lining their coffers by paying the same plan rate when I bring my own unlocked device, unless you have a ridiculously good grandfathered plan (like Sprint SERO). I wouldn't mind paying $0 for the low-cost option as long as the internals were mostly comparable.

Yep.... me too but want a bigger screen. Needs to be 4.5 to be competitive with the rest of the smartphone market.

Why Apple can't get a 5 inch Iphone out already is utter stupidity on their part. Apple's one size fits all model worked a few years ago but the market has changed. Apple and Cook need to adapt to a changing market.

This update looks more interesting than the 4S update. The 4S was faster and had 4G on AT&T... whatever... and had Siri (artificially restricted from the 4), and Siri is pretty bogus anyway.

5"
Uh, NOPE.

I wouldn't be surprised if the rumoured cheaper iPhone and the next iPod touch share the same design and materials to reduce production costs.

Cheaper iPhone just sounds like the dumbest idea ever. Apple wants to be known as the Ferrari of the technology industry. Ferrari would never announce a cheap Ferrari.

Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini and every other high-end vehicle manufacturer produce both a 'halo' vehicle and more accessible vehicle(s). It's good business practice.

Ferrari: 458 and F12

Lamborghini: Gallardo and Aventador

Porsche: Boxster and 911

Apple: 15 inch Macbook Pro, 13 Macbook Pro, Macbook Air.

Why should Apple's phone business be any different, especially considering the changing and highly competitive smartphone environment?

I suggest you hurry up and buy whatever latest Android flagship is available right now or prepare to be disappointed in June.

iOS is iOS. Bring it to the masses. The only reason Android is even doing well is due to people having to compromise based on $$. Android sucks! Give everyone a cheap buy in to get into iOS.

Updated... again?

Man, the iPhone 5 isn't even a year old, and already they're planning another one.

Why even buy a smartphone when it's going to be outdated faster than your last Call of Duty game? I'll stick with my flip-phone and iPod Touch.

The 5S can't come fast enough for my wife who had her 4S stolen a few months ago. She's been hobbling along on my old Android. Actually, I'll be getting the 5S and she'll get my 5. :D

Can't come fast enough for me, too. I'm looking to upgrade from my old but trusty 3GS

The iPhone 5 is already awesome in my opinion. The problem isn't the phone. It's the freaking OS.
Well, the OS isn't really a "problem". In the ADHD world of technology, people just want to see something new and different. I do think that if they can pull up a great new interface and look to iOS 7 without sacrificing the simplicity, they could really boost sales. The 5S may have the same form factor, but with a different OS, it'll look entirely different. It may be just the thing to get 3GS/4/4S owners to finally upgrade.

I think the idea is to get 3GS, 4, and 4S owners to upgrade. No one says you have to get this if you have the 5. Wait until the 6 comes out.

I've never understood the complaint about products coming out too fast.

Very interested in what Apple comes up with in the next few months... This is the first time in six years that I'm starting to look across the street at android.... That HTC One looks pretty sweet...

Apple needs to step it up when it comes to IOS. The latest market share numbers are in and Android is up to 51% market share. IOS Year over Year went down from 47% to 43% and Android went up from 45% to 51%. Not to mention KLP is coming right around the corner.

Apple needs to step it up, IOS is becoming dated in short order. I love IOS, but I feel that apple is lazy when it comes to software(both IOS and OSX). They seem to take baby steps and add features that few people care about or use.

I'm not sure if you've used Android, because if you've used Jelly Bean on any android phone, skinned or not, you'd realize how far behind iOS is. My buddies Nexus 4 is an incredibly quick, reliable, and featured phone and my Nexus 7 is an absolute joy to use. These aren't the Gingerbread days anymore. Android is a formidable OS and has surpassed iOS in almost every way besides integration (which is arguable, because if you're one who's ingrained in Google's ecosystem as heavily as many of us are in Apple's, it's just as good).

Seriously, Android bashing is ridiculous in 2013. It's an excellent platform and a damn good mobile OS. There's a reason people are complaining about how dated iOS feels, and much if not all of it is due to Android 4.

If they really do a low end version, I hope that doesn't mean the high end one will get a bigger screen. That would mean I'd have to go for the plastic one. :-(

Not really. Flagship Android handsets cost similar to Apple handsets.

If people are that desperate to "get into ios" - they can get an iphone 4/4s for next to nothing.

True.

Thing is, BMW, Mercedes and Audi all have lower priced models. Along with Volvo, Jaguar, and whoever else you might want to think of.

Sure, if Apple wants to be Ferrari, they should stay in the high end. But I highly doubt Apple wants to just sell 5000 iphones a year.
